WICHITA, Kan. – At the penultimate regular season PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event of 2024 on Saturday evening in Wichita, Kansas, Marcelo Procopio Pereira (Rinopolis, Brazil) and Paulo Ferreira Lima (Bezerros, Brazil) rode supreme, tying for the event win at PBR Wichita.

Pereira and Lima delivered matching scores in both of the tour stop’s two rounds of competition inside INTRUST Bank Arena.

In Round 1, the Brazilian duo logged 82.5-point efforts, tying for the second-best score of the round, as Pereira went the distance atop Thunder (LH Cattle Co./Chandler Cattle Co.), and Lima conquered Down & Dirty (Kevin Foreman Bucking Bulls).

The veteran competitors then split the championship round win, both cementing the event win, when they reached the requisite 8 for 83.5 points. Pereira topped Midnight Mover (Burkham Contracting #2) and Lima dominated Tulsa King (Robinson/Squirrel Ridge/Eland).

The golden finish netted Pereira and Lima each 105.5 points in the race for the 2024 PBR Velocity Tour Championship.

As the only other rider to go a perfect 2-for-2, Ramon de Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil) was third, collecting 61 Velocity Global points.

Lima, who rides for the Austin Gamblers in the separate PBR Teams league, rode Fast Forward (TDS/Buentello Bucking Bulls) for 81.5 points in Round 1, before covering Candy Kid (Franzel/King/Arrow C) for 64.5 points in the final round.

Claudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil) parlayed an event-best, 86-point ride on Plowboy (Julian Cattle #2) in Round 1 into a fourth-place finish.

The charismatic Brazilian left Kansas having earned 49 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Dalton Rudman (Wellington, Utah).

Rudman garnered 24 Velocity Global points for his 74-point effort atop Lil Larry (Team Wyatt) in Round 1.

The PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour next travels to Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Saturday, April 27 for the final regular season event of the year. Action for PBR Grand Forks at Alerus Center begins at 7 p.m. CT.
