GRAND FORKS, N.D. – As the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) returned to Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Saturday night, Grayson Cole (New Ringgold, Pennsylvania) was unstoppable, securing the event win at the last regular-season event of 2024.

In Round 1 of the night, Cole was paired with Tough Company (Richardson Land & Cattle Co), firing out of the chutes for 81.5 points and finishing seventh in the round.

As the extraordinary animal athletes of the PBR showcased their supreme agility throughout the championship round, besting all but two cowboys, the rider for the Missouri Thunder during the separate PBR Teams league conquered his matchup against Ram Rod (Double S Bull Co./ Cervi) for 87 points.

As one of only two riders to go 2-for-2, Cole netted 121 Velocity Global points and is now at No. 2 in the Velocity standings.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

Dalton Rudman (Wellington, Utah) was hot on Cole’s heels on Saturday night, capturing second place overall.

The 29-year-old cowboy was paired with Homer (Sterk Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, collecting 83.5 points for his qualified ride and splitting fourth place.

He then headed on to the championship round. To the North Dakota crowd’s delight, Cowboy Chrome (Richardson Land & Cattle Co) was no match for Rudman, who successfully rode for an amazing 84.5 points.

Rudman collected 83.5 Velocity Global points for his 2-for-2 weekend and now sits at No. 35 in the Velocity standings.

After already securing an event win, Cole, who had doubled down for the weekend, entering twice, split the third-place finish with newly traded Arizona Ridge Rider athlete Dener Barbosa (Paulo de Faria, Brazil).

Cole conquered his second entry Round 1 matchup against Devil’s Revenge (New Frontier Rodeo), turning in an 86-point ride and splitting the round win with Barbosa.

The 24-year-old then hoped to keep the momentum going in the championship round aboard Redneck (New Frontier Rodeo), but the powerful animal athlete came out victorious, dispatching Cole at 4.2 seconds.

Next up in the tied duo was Barbosa. In Round 1, the cowboy was matched with Money Maker (C Check Bucking Bulls), earning a matching 86 points with Cole.

Looking to continue his hot streak in the championship round, the 30-year-old cowboy was paired with White Trash (Double S Bull Co./ Cervi). Even with his best efforts, the bull won the matchup, dispatching Barbosa after 5.6 seconds.

Despite their short round buckoffs, each cowboy earned 51.5 Velocity Global points.

Barbosa is now at No. 3 in the standings.

Rounding out the Top 5 for Saturday night in Grand Forks was Austin Gamblers athlete Ramon De Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil). In the opening round, he was paired with Say Your Prayers (C Check Bucking Bulls), ending the matchup with an 84-point ride and securing a third-place finish in the round.

Going into the championship round, the 33-year-old cowboy was matched up with Choir Boy (Double S Bull Co./ Cervi). The incredible animal athlete emerged victorious, bucking the Brazilian off at a mere 2.01 seconds.

For his 1-for-2 weekend, Lima netted 34 Velocity Global points and is now sitting at No. 7 in the standings.

The talented bull riders of the PWVT will next head to Corpus Christi, Texas, for the PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Finals at American Bank Center Arena on May 3-4.
