FORT WORTH, Texas – At the 58^th iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, home of the PBR World Finals Elimination Rounds and Ride for Redemption, Elizmar Jeremias (Anapu, Brazil) went 1-for-1 to take home the event buckle.

The Brazilian roared out of the chutes on Black Jack (Wyloh Ranch) for an event-high 86 points to take an early lead.

Jeremias returned home with 46 Velocity Global points.

In second place was Jean Fernandes Pereira (Crixas, Brazil), who also went 1-for-1, and Lucas Fideles Souza (Barnstable, Massachusetts), who went 1-for-2.

Locked in the chutes with Elkins 093 (Philip Elkins), Pereira gave the nod and made the 8 for 84 points.

Souza matched his fellow countryman aboard Secret Weapon (444 Bucking Bulls/Stockyards/Winston /Durham/Davis/Melton) for 84 points in Round 1.

Looking to seize the event lead, he then shot out of the gate on Elkins 800 (Philip Elkins) in Round 2 but was bucked off in 2.23 seconds.

The pair earned 27.5 points each for their efforts Thursday evening.

The final qualified ride of the evening belonged to Douglas Franco (Braganca Paulista, Brazil).

In Round 1, Franco thundered out of the chutes on CMSR 90 (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) for 80 points.

Knowing he needed to convert in the second round to earn a spot on the podium, the Brazilian briefly sat tall atop Elkins 737 (Philip Elkins) but was dislodged after 2.23 seconds.

The 1-for-2 performance garnered Franco 18 Velocity Global points.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

The rank pen that didn’t allow a single ride in Round 2 was led by Brutilizer (Campbell Cattle Co), who won the Bull of the Event title for his Round 2 work bucking off Guthrie Long (Pecos, Texas) in 3.27 seconds, marked 44 points.

The PBR Stockyards Showcase returns on Thursday, April 18. Action inside Cowtown Coliseum will get underway at 7:30 p.m. CT.
