FORT WORTH, Texas – At the 53rd iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, home of the PBR World Finals Elimination Rounds and Ride for Redemption, Elizmar Jeremias (Anapu, Brazil) went a perfect 2-for-2 to win the event title.
In Round 1, Jeremias, a rider for the Florida Freedom on the separate PBR Camping World Team Series, roared out of the chutes aboard Storm Trooper (Farris Cattle/Big Schott Rodeo) for 86 points.
Not to be denied, the Brazilian capped off his perfect evening by covering Savage Love (Farris Cattle/Big Schott Rodeo) for 85.5 points in the final round to seize the event lead.
His first victory of the 2024 season netted him a critical 57 Velocity Global points.
Ederson Santos (Ilha Solteira, Brazil) finished in second place, also going 2-for-2.
He began his evening by riding Wrangler Jeans (United Pro Rodeo) for 84.5 points in the opening round.
In search of his first Showcase victory, the Brazilian veteran rocketed out of the chutes on Sauced Up (Flying S Bucking Bulls) for 83.5 points in the final round, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the dominant Jeremias.
The second-place finish earned Santos 42 Velocity Global points.
The last rider to go a perfect 2-for-2 was Callum Miller (Warwick, Queensland, Australia), who finished third.
After getting off to a strong start with 85.5 points on TFB 67 (Farris Cattle/Big Schott Rodeo), the Aussie thundered out of the chutes on Hotel Gunsel (Flying S Bucking Bulls) for 81 points in the final round to take the last spot on the podium.
The bronze finish secured Miller 32 Velocity Global points.
In fourth place was Lucas Divino (Nova Crixas, Brazil).
The Austin Gamblers’ veteran won the opening round courtesy of an event-high 87.5-point ride on Bamboozle (Farris Cattle/Big Schott Rodeo), but he was bucked off by Gangster Time (Classic Jack Cattle/Viducic Bucking Bulls) in 1.66 seconds in the championship round to end his hopes for the event buckle.
The Brazilian left Cowtown Coliseum with 23 Velocity Global points.
Rounding out the Top 5 was Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCracken Spring, Utah).
Right on Divino’s spurs, the Arizona Ridge Riders’ star rode Taylor’s Cowtown Throwdown (Farris Cattle/Big Schott Rodeo/Triple T Livestock) for 87 points in the first round.
Looking to take the lead on the penultimate out, Whitehorse then rocketed out of the chutes on Nefarious (Viducic Bucking Bulls/Jess Lockwood) but was unseated after 2.46 seconds.
Whitehorse garnered 18 Velocity Global points for his efforts Thursday evening.
Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.
In the bull pen, White Face (Flying S/Pedra Bucking Bulls) and Younts Brody’s Pet (Farris Cattle/Big Schott Rodeo) joined Bamboozle and Nefarious in being marked 43 points in their outs to split the Bull of the Event title.
The PBR Stockyards Showcase returns on Thursday, March 14. Action inside Cowtown Coliseum will get underway at 7:30 p.m. CT.
PBR RidePass on Pluto TV will offer re-airs and on-demand replays of every PBR Stockyards Showcase event. PBR RidePass is available on desktops, laptops and mobile devices via www.pluto.tv. Click here for on-demand PBR programming.
