MOBILE, Ala. – Saturday evening inside of Mobile Civic Center was electric as the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) made its debut in Mobile, Alabama.

Brazilian cowboy Ederson Santos (Ilha Solteira, Brazil) emerged victorious. Going 2-for-2 throughout the night to collect his second win of the 2024 PWVT season, Santos now sits at No. 1 in the standings.

Santos started the night aboard Grey Goose (LH Cattle/ 2T Cattle Co) in Round 1 for a resounding 87.5 points. Sitting at second place on the leaderboard going into the championship round, he was paired with Dirty Sancho (Blake Sharp/ Koe Wetzel/ High Voltage Cattle) as his final opponent of the night.

Despite a less than ideal 76.50-point score, Santos was the only cowboy to confidently ride two bulls on Saturday night.

Santos earned 118 Velocity Global points for his efforts in Mobile.

Not far behind Santos in his extraordinary weekend, the second-place man was Marco Rizzo (Quitman, Georgia).

Fans inside Mobile Civic Center were at full volume Saturday night when Rizzo’s 88.50-point ride score was announced after he went head-to-head with his bovine opponent Aviator (Halpain Bucking Bulls) in Round 1. The championship round did not end well for him, as MAGA (Blue Ridge Bucking Bulls/Triple T) launched the Round 1 leader to the ground at 1.15 seconds.

The weekend earned the Georgia cowboy 78 Velocity Global points and a spot at No. 3 in the standings.

Alvaro Ariel (Itumirim, Brazil) secured his third-place finish after successfully riding Boogieman (Julian Cattle #2) for 86.5 points in Round 2. Later matched with Oreo (Twisted Horns Cattle Co/ Bear) in the final round, he failed to make the whistle, hitting the ground after a mere 1.44 seconds.

The young Brazilian collected 53 Velocity Global points and moved to No. 54 in the standings.

Arkansas’ Lane Lasley (Marshall, Arkansas) began Saturday night in Alabama with an 85.5-point ride aboard Heart of Darkness (Frenzel/ King) in Round 1. Despite not riding in the championship, Lasley captured a fourth-place finish and 37 Velocity Global points to sit at No. 65.

A pair of Brazilian cowboys shared the fifth-place finish.

Leandro Machado (Nova Esperanca, Brazil) and Leonardo Lima (Vale do Paraiso, Brazil) turned in matching 85-point scores in Round 1.

Machado conquered Dang Dang (Burkham Contracting Inc.) while Lima bested Bolo (Richardson Land & Cattle Co).

Despite neither cowboy riding in the final round of the night, they both left Alabama with 29 world points. Machado now sits at No. 26 while Lima sits at No. 60.

The talented bull riders of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will next head to Wheeling, West Virginia, March 15-16, for PBR Wheeling Brought to You By Oglebay Resort at the WesBanco Arena. In a double-up weekend, the PWVT will also be in Palm Springs, California, for PBR Palm Springs at Acrisure Arena on March 15-16.
