Bangor, ME. – At the second of three days of bull riding at the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Bangor at the Cross Insurance Center, Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) won the round and is currently third in the event standings.

After being bucked off by Evad Nitram (Dave Martin/Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, Tetz converted aboard Chute Boss (Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls) for 84.5 points to move to take third place.

The round win earned the Canadian cowboy 28 Velocity Global points.

The only rider to reach two qualified rides was Lucas Felix (MT. Cacenas, Brazil), seizing the event lead.

In search of his first career PBR victory, the Brazilian cowboy rocketed out of the gate for 82.5 points on Helena’s Pet (J Bar W) in Round 1.

He then kept his momentum rolling in Round 2, riding High Society (J Bar W) for 68 points to overtake Eli Vastbinder (Statesville, North Carolina) in the standings.

Felix earned 7 Velocity Global points for his efforts Saturday night.

A veteran rider for the Texas Rattlers on the separate PBR Camping World Team Series, Vastbinder won Round 1 by topping Inaffit (Dave Martin/Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 86 points.

Matched with Oakie (C-B Bucking Bulls) Saturday evening, the North Carolinian was bested in 4.00 seconds, keeping him second in the event standings.

In fourth place after Round 2 is Kane Taylor (Monticello, Arkansas).

Taylor roared out of the chutes in the opening round and covered Flash Back (Lucky E Rodeo) for 83 points.

Looking to seize the event lead, the Arkansas cowboy shot out of the gate on J Bar W 063 (J Bar W) but was bucked off in 5.02 seconds.

Veteran Andrew Alvidrez (Seminole, Texas) also bounced back after an opening-round buck off and currently sits in fifth.

Paired with Blaze (J Bar W) in Round 1, the Texan lost the rope after 2.72 seconds.

He then rebounded in Round 2, thundering out of the chutes on Lil Beagle (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 82.5 points.

The Missouri Thunder star earned 18 Velocity Global points for his Round 2 ride.

Zane Cook (Forth Gibson, Oklahoma) and Tyler Manor (Portland, Indiana) rounded out the four qualified rides Saturday night.

Cook topped Touche (J Bar W) for 79.5 points while Manor covered Day Time Demond (Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls) for 73 points.

The Oklahoma cowboy netted 16 Velocity Global points and currently sits in sixth in the event standings, while Manor sits in eighth and garnered eight Velocity Global points.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

The Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour action in Bangor continues tomorrow, Sunday, March 10, with Round 3 and the championship round beginning at 2 p.m. EDT.
