DENVER, Colo. – As night one of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s (PWVT) three-day Denver PBR Chute Out at the National Western Stock Show came to a close on Monday night, Eric Henrique Domingos (Perola, Brazil) sat alone atop the leaderboard.

Sharing a chute with Joy’s Bang Bang (4B Bucking Bulls/Rudy Meija Bucking Bulls), the Brazilian rocketed out of the gate for 87 points to take the lead Monday evening.

Right on Domingos’ spurs is Cort McFadden (Novice, Texas), who was awarded 86.5 points for his dance with Too Dirty (Ty Rinaldo TZ Bucking Bulls).

Courtesy of a double-entry, Hunter Ball (Carsonville, Michigan) rallied after being bucked off in his first out to top Taking Chances (Frihauf Cattle Co) for 86 points.

In fourth is Max Castro (Chicimula Gust, Guatemala), who roared out of the chutes on Red River (Ty Rinaldo TZ Bucking Bulls) for 84.5 points.

Rounding out the Top 5 after the opening night of action was Eric Novoa (Vacaville, Canada), who sat tall atop Yellowstone (Flying S Bucking Bulls) for 83.5 points.

In addition to the Top 5 riders, three other cowboys made the 8, as Briggs Madsen (Tremonton, Utah), Elijah Mora (Wiggins, Colorado) and Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, New Mexico) all converted to stay in the hunt for the event buckle.

Round 1 continues on Tuesday, January 9, with the remaining 45 riders who didn’t compete on Monday night. The Top 30 riders from Round 1 will advance to Round 2 on Wednesday, January 10, with the Top 15 combined scores from Round 1 and Round 2 advancing the Championship Round later that evening.

The Denver PBR Chute Out will continue at the National Western Stock Show with the final 45 riders in Round 1 on Tuesday, January 9, at 7 p.m. MST.
