Daniel Keeping, John Crimber split title at PBR Stockyards Showcase

Riders post an incredible 18 rides during electric night of bull riding.

By Andrew Hatfield

FORT WORTH, Texas – At the forty-sixth iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, Daniel Keeping (Montague, Texas) and John Crimber (Decatur, Texas) both went a perfect 2-for-2 to split the event victory.

Keeping began his perfect outing by covering Rafter H 678 (Rafter H Rodeo Livestock) for 86.5 points in Round 1, finishing second in the round.

A member of the 2023 Champion Texas Rattlers on the PBR Camping World Team Series, Keeping proved his championship pedigree by rocketing out of the gate on Psalm 91 (Young Cattle/Rocking A) for a round-high 86.5 points in Round 2 during the second-to-last out of the evening.

Matching him atop the leaderboard was fellow Texan, Crimber.

Son of legendary PBR bull rider Paulo Crimber, who was recently appointed head coach of the Florida Freedom, the young gun won the opening round courtesy of an event-high 87-point performance on War Paint (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls).

Locked in, the up-and-coming start roared out of the chutes on Kapt’n Krunch (Young Cattle/Rocking A) and proved his mettle, making the 8 for 86 points to draw even with Keeping in the standings in the final out of the event.

Both cowboys left Cowtown Coliseum with 54 Velocity Global points.

Ezekiel Mitchell (Rockdale, Texas) finished third.

Sporting a blue shirt and helmet to match his nickname, the veteran rode PBC 00 (Platinum Bull Co) for 83.5 points in Round 1.

The ebullient Texan became the first rider to go a perfect 2-for-2, covering Slice of Show (Young Cattle/Rocking A) for a solid 85.5 points in the final round.

Mitchell returned home with a critical 31 Velocity Global points.

In fourth was Thiago Salgado (Navirai, Brazil).

The last of four riders to go a perfect 2-for-2, Salgado began his evening by riding Rafter H 9715 (Rafter H Rodeo Livestock) for 85.5 points in Round 1 before topping Nipsey (Johnson Circle 13 Ranch/Young Cattle Co) for 80 points in the final round.

The Brazilian netted 29 Velocity Global points for his performance Thursday evening.

Closing out the Top 5 was Lucas Divino (Nova Crixas, Brazil).

A rider for the Austin Gamblers, Divino started strong, riding Rafter H V3 (Rafter H Rodeo Livestock) for 86 points, but was later bucked off Kemo Sabe (Young Cattle/Rocking A) in 1.82 seconds to end his bid for the event buckle.

The Brazilian cowboy garnered 17 Velocity Global points for his effort.

In the bull pen, Boojie Boy (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) was marked 44 points after bucking off Kane Taylor (Monticello, Arkansas) in 3.03 seconds to win the Bull of the Event title.

The PBR Stockyards Showcase returns on Thursday, January 25. Action inside Cowtown Coliseum will get underway at 7:30 p.m. CT.
