LEXINGTON, Ky. – As the 2024 season got underway for the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour in Lexington, Kentucky, seven riders delivered scores, but none more dominant than Clay Guiton (Cherryville, North Carolina), who won Round 1 of PBR Lexington.

Guiton was tasked with Cotton Mouth (LH Cattle Co./2T Cattle Co.) Friday night inside Rupp Arena. Matching the bovine athlete jump-for-jump, Guiton reached the requisite 8 for 86 points to cement the win.

The North Carolinian garnered an early 28 Velocity Global points.

He next takes on Major Nelson (Hurst Pro Rodeo) in Round 2.

Marco Antonio Rizzo (Quitman, Georgia) was second. His 85.5-point ride on Lever Action (Jenkins Cattle Co.) earned him 18 Velocity Global points.

Rizzo will look to log his second score in as many attempts when he next takes on White Thunder (Dana White/DD Bucking Bulls).

Leandro Machado (Nova Esperanca, Brazil) parlayed an 84.5-point ride atop Thunder (Barrett/Barnes PRCA Rodeo) into a third-place result.

The bronze showing garnered him 17 Velocity Global points as he readies to climb atop Not Yet (Obernagel/Sho-Me Rodeo) during Round 2 on Championship Saturday in the Bluegrass State.

Rounding out the Top 5 and tying for fourth were Marco Eguchi (Poa, Brazil) and Brandon Ballard (New Hope, Kentucky). Each delivered 82-point rides to earn 15.5 Velocity Global points.

Eguchi dominated Playboy Dreams (Blue Ridge Bucking Bulls/Triple T), while Kentucky’s own Ballard conquered Buckingham (Dave Martin/Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in front of a home-state crowd.

When they return to the arena on Saturday, Eguchi has drawn Nautical Nightmare (Halpain Bucking Bulls #2), and Ballard will square off against Muddy Jake (Lonnie & Amy Austin).

Action for PBR Lexington will conclude with Round 2 and the championship round on Saturday, Jan. 6. Action gets underway at 6:45 p.m. EST.
