RENO, Nev. – Saturday evening inside of Reno Events Center was electric as day two of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s (PWVT) PBR Reno rolled to a close and Australian cowboy Callum Miller (Warwick, Queensland, Australia) emerged victorious. Going 3-for-3 throughout the weekend to collect his first event win of the 2024 PWVT season, Miller now sits at No. 2 in the standings.

Miller started the two-day event with a fourth-place finish in Round 1 on Friday night courtesy of an 86.5-point ride aboard Howdy (Sho-Me Rodeo), followed by an impressive first-place finish in Saturday’s Round 2 paired with Dang, Dang (Burkham Contracting #2) for 88 points.

Heading into the championship round, Miller was paired with Two Hands (Frenzel/King/Arrow C) and continued his perfect weekend with another 88-point ride, securing the event win.

Miller earned 142 Velocity Global points for his efforts in Reno.

Not far behind Miller in his extraordinary weekend, the second-place man was Andy Bohl (St. Cloud, Florida).

Fans inside the Reno Events Center were at full volume Saturday night when Bohl’s 85-point ride score was announced after he went head-to-head with his bovine opponent Fearsome (Triple C Bucking Bulls)in Round 2. The championship round treated him well, as he confidently conquered Walking Tall (Burkham Contracting #2) for an 87.5-point ride score.

The weekend earned the Florida cowboy 96 Velocity Global points and a spot at No. 14 in the standings.

Nineteen-year-old Leonardo Castro Ferreira (Cassilandia, Brazil) secured his third-place finish after successfully riding Rub A Dub (Julian Cattle #2) for 82 points in Round 2. Later matched with Oreo (Twisted Horns Cattle Co/ Bear) in the final round, he collected a massive 90.5-point ride to clinch his spot on the leaderboard.

The young Brazilian collected 88 Velocity Global points and moved to No. 4 in the standings.

Californian rookie Eric Novoa (Vacaville, California) began Saturday night in Reno with an 81.5-point ride aboard Hawaiian Punch (Frenzel/ King/ Arrow C) in Round 2, landing him in the 10th spot going into the championship round, where he was matched with Justified (Rafter J Cattle/ Oxford Bucking Bulls).

Novoa was successful in the matchup, scoring 87 points.

He finished the weekend in fourth place, collecting 56.6 Velocity Global points, and sits within the Top 10 in the standings at No. 9.

Round one champion Chad Hartman (Lancer, Saskatchewan, Canada) rounded out the Top 5 of PBR Reno.

After a second-place finish aboard LP’s Hitman Harris (TDS/Buentello Bucking Bulls 2) for 86.5 points in Saturday’s Round 2, Hartman was ready for the championship round. However, the night did not continue to go as he had planned.

In Sunday’s closing round, he hit the dirt early as Kamikaze (Humpz & Hornz/ ET Cattle) tossed him at 5.72 seconds.

For his efforts, the 24-year-old cowboy received 63 Velocity Global points and is the No. 13 man in the standings.

The talented bull riders of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will next head to Greenville, South Carolina, for PBR Greenville at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. In a double-up weekend, the PWVT will also be in Laredo, Texas, for PBR Laredo at Sames Auto Arena on Jan. 26-27.
