Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl Champion starting center Creed Humphrey partners with the Kansas City Outlaws

Humphrey to become Chief of Outlaw Attitude ahead of team’s second annual Outlaw Days homestand Aug. 3-5 at T-Mobile Center

By Kacie Albert

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ahead of the Kansas City Outlaws’ second-annual homestand, Aug. 3-5 at T-Mobile Center, the team today announced a strategic partnership with the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl Champion starting center Creed Humphrey, making him the team’s Official Fan Ambassador and a prominent voice in the team’s forthcoming brand campaign.

The Kansas City Outlaws are the city’s first-ever professional bull riding team, competing in the groundbreaking PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams league, which transforms the sport from one of an individual nature into a team-formatted event. The Kansas City Outlaws are led by PBR Ring of Honor inductees J.W. Hart and Guilherme Marchi and feature a talent-packed roster of riders, including Missouri’s own Bob Mitchell (Steelville) and Koltin Hevalow (Smithville).

Humphrey and the Outlaws are a natural fit in exemplifying grit, determination, and a deep-rooted passion to win championships for the people of Kansas City.

Via the new partnership, Humphrey will be featured in the team’s new cross-platform brand campaign on both traditional and social media. As their Official Fan Ambassador, he will serve as the newly appointed “Chief of Outlaw Attitude.”

Humphrey will also be prominently featured in-arena during Outlaw Days, hyping up fans with unifying rallying cries to help cheer their team to victory during the head-to-head bull riding games.

The campaign was taped in late June at the Kanas City Outlaws 2023 Training Camp, where Humphrey received an unparalleled, immersive bull riding experience. Humphrey was indoctrinated into the Outlaws roster as he interacted with members of the team, as the two groups of athletes shared stories and best practices from both the gridiron and bucking chutes.

The 2023 NFL Pro Bowler and All-Pro also got up close with the sport’s top animal athletes. As an added element of the new partnership, one of PBR’s top bucking bulls will also be renamed in honor of Humphrey before and during Outlaw Days.

”I am excited to become the first Official Fan Ambassador for the Kansas City Outlaws of PBR Teams,” said Humphrey. “As an offensive lineman, we bring the grit, power, and attitude to the team – just like this organization. As the Chief of Outlaw Attitude, I look forward to continuing to bring excitement and championships to Kansas City!”

“The Kansas City Outlaws couldn’t be more excited to enter into this unique partnership with Creed Humphrey, whose dedication and commitment to his sport, work ethic and grit seen daily on the gridiron naturally align with our team’s ethos,” said Kansas City Outlaws’ General Manager Jim Smith. “As we continue to grow our fandom, he will be an outstanding ambassador to help spread the Outlaw mantra across Kansas City and the nation. Humphrey was a key force in bringing the Vince Lombardi Trophy back to Kansas City in 2023, and as we welcome him into our fold as an honorary member of the Kansas City Outlaws, we hope to follow in his footsteps and bring a PBR Teams Championship back to the city this October.”

Humphrey, a native of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and proud member of the Potawatomi nation, was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 63rd overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs following an impressive collegiate campaign with the Oklahoma Sooners.

While at the University of Oklahoma, he was a two-time All-American and Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. In 2018, Humphrey was a member of the offensive line unit that won the prestigious Joe Moore Award.

In 2021, Humphrey started in all 17 regular season games for the Chiefs, becoming just the 17th player in franchise history to start every regular season game in their rookie season. Allowing just one sack in 2021, Humphrey concluded the season with a 91.9 PFF ranking as a rookie offensive lineman.

During his second season, Humphrey was named to the Pro Bowl, 2nd Team All-Pro, and was key in the Chiefs’ 38-35 come-from-behind win against the Philadelphia Eagles, anchoring the offensive line that allowed no sacks during the game.

In 2022, for the first PBR Teams season, the Outlaws had several rookies in their lineup who made significant contributions to the contingent in their first year, much like Humphrey. Those talents included 2022 PBR Rookie of the Year Mitchell, who went 9-for-24 (37.5%) during the season, and young gun Hevalow who went 5-for-17 (29.41%). Mitchell notably rode in all but three of the 28 regular season games for the Outlaws, while Hevalow appeared in 16.

After the 2023 PBR Teams season begins July 24-25 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the Outlaws will welcome the seven other teams in the league to Kansas City for the second event of the season on Aug. 3-5.

The bull riding action for the 2023 PBR Teams’ Outlaw Days at T-Mobile Center begins at 7:45 p.m. CT on Thursday, August 3, and Friday, August 4, and 6:45 p.m. CT on Saturday, August 5.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and start at $20, taxes and fees not included. They can be purchased online at AXS.com, PBR.com and t-mobilecenter.com or by calling PBR customer service at 1-800-732-1727.

Three-day ticket packages are available, offering fans a 15% discount on select price levels.
