FORT WORTH, Texas – At the fifteenth iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum, Alan de Souza (Taubate, Brazil) dominated, going a perfect 2-for-2 to win the event in Fort Worth, Texas.

Souza initially tied for fourth in the opening round when he covered Show Me (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) for 85.5 points.

The reserved Brazilian then catapulted up the standings in the championship round, clinching the victory when he rode Deplorabull (Winston Bucking Bulls/Melton Bull Co.) for an event-best 87.5 points.

The golden finish earned Souza a crucial 56.5 Challenger Series points.

Newly inked Texas Rattlers rider, in the separate PBR Team Series, Dawson Gleaves (Amarillo, Texas) was second, netting 45.5 Challenger Series points.

Gleaves got off to a quick start in Round 1, tying for second when he made the requisite 8 on Game Over (Cooper/Scruggs/Bishop) for 86 points.

He then continued his momentum in the final round when he delivered a matching 86-point score aboard Secret Weapon (444 Bucking Bulls/Stockyards/Winston/Durham/Davis/Melton).

Third was Guilherme Valleiras (Pirassununga, Brazil).

A member of the Arizona Ridge Riders’ practice squad, Valleiras delivered back-to-back 85.5-point rides, covering Pogo (JD Nix Rodeo Co.) in Round 1 and Bottles Up (D4 Cattle/Melton Bull Co./Stockyards Pro Rodeo) in the championship round.

Valleiras left Cowtown Coliseum having earned 32.5 Challenger Series points.

As the final rider to cover both of his bovine athlete opponents, Ayslan Jeferson (Nova Brasilandia, Brazil) was fourth, picking up 27 Challenger Series points.

Jeferson topped Pain Killer (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) for 82.5 points in Round 1, then topped Skyline (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) for 85 points in the championship round.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Davi Henrique de Lima (Candido Mota, Brazil).

Recently joining the Ridge Riders’ roster, Lima’s effort, which earned him 21 Challenger Series points, was headlined by a Round 1-winning, 87-point ride on Monster in Paris (4L & Diamond S Rodeo Company).

In the bull pen, Ah Hell (Cooper/Scurggs Bucking Bulls) bucked a cut above the rest, crowned the Bull of the Event. Bucking in Round 1, the powerful animal athlete was marked 45 points for his 1.92 seconds of effort against Robson Guedes (Descalvado, Brazil).

The PBR Stockyards Showcase continues Thursday, June 8. Action inside Cowtown Coliseum will get underway at 7:30 p.m. CT.
