Kansas City Outlaws announce 2023 PBR Teams game schedule

Kansas City Outlaws to play Arizona Ridge Riders, Oklahoma Freedom, Missouri Thunder during team’s second-annual homestand at T-Mobile Center on Aug. 3-5.

By Kacie Albert

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ahead of the second season for the ground-breaking PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams league, the Kansas City Outlaws, one of two Missouri-based professional bull riding teams, today announced their 2023 game schedule.

The 2023 PBR Teams season will include a three-day homestand hosted by each of the eight founding teams, accompanied by two, two-day neutral site events. During event days, each of the league’s eight founding teams will compete in one five-on-five bull riding game against another team, with each team competing in 28 games throughout the regular season. The PBR Teams Championship returns to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 20-22.

The Kansas City Outlaws will hold the first team-hosted homestand, and second event of the regular-season, Outlaw Days, on Aug. 3-5 at T-Mobile Center. During their event, they will play the Arizona Ridge Riders (Aug. 3), Oklahoma Freedom (Aug. 4) and Missouri Thunder (Aug. 5).

During the regular season, the Outlaws will compete in a rivalry series with their home state opponent Missouri Thunder.

In a battle for the Show Me State, the Outlaws will play the Thunder on Aug. 5 during the final night of their homestand inside T-Mobile Center; Sept. 10 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Sept. 15 in Ridgedale, Missouri and Oct. 7 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Throughout the campaign, the Kansas City Outlaws will also play the reigning PBR Teams Champion Nashville Stampede four times as they look to bring the title back to Missouri this October.

Every game during the season will be carried by CBS, including seven “Game of the Week” broadcasts, CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) or Pluto TV (PLUTO). The Kansas City Outlaws will be featured in two Game of the Week broadcasts. The telecasts will feature their rivalry game against the Missouri Thunder in Kansas City airing on Aug. 6, and their showdown with the reigning PBR Teams Champion Nashville Stampede in Music City airing on Aug. 20.

The Kansas City Outlaws will return to the arena this summer keen to win their first PBR Team Series Championship.

In 2022, the team went 12-16 in game play, twice finishing runner-up to the event win in Nashville and Fort Worth. In the Lone Star State, the Outlaws delivered their first 3-0 record in game play, beating the Carolina Cowboys, Nashville Stampede and Missouri Thunder. The surprising twists and turns of the league’s inaugural season were captured in the critically acclaimed docuseries, The Ride, streaming now on Prime Video.

Under the leadership of Head Coach J.W. Hart, and newly inked Assistant Coach, 2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi, the Outlaws will return a talent-packed roster including Missouri’s own Bob Mitchell (Steelville) and Koltin Hevalow (Smithville). The squad will also feature Wingson Henrique da Silva, acquired via an offseason trade with the Carolina Cowboys, who delivered a breakthrough 2023 individual season finishing runner-up to the Rookie of the Year title and No. 4 in the 2023 PBR World Championship race.

The remainder of the roster includes: Cassio Dias, Leonardo Castro Ferreira, Marcus Mast, Kyler Oliver, Julio Cesar Marques and Brady Portenier.

The Kansas City Outlaws will host their second annual homestand, Outlaw Days, on Aug. 3-5 in Kansas City, Missouri, at T-Mobile Center. The action begins at 7:45 p.m. CT on Thursday, August 3 and Friday, August 4, and 6:45 p.m. CT on Saturday, August 5.

Tickets for the event are on sale now, and start at $20, taxes and fees not included. They can be purchased online at AXS.com, PBR.com and t-mobilecenter.com, or by calling PBR customer service at 1-800-732-1727.

Three-day ticket packages are available, offering fans a 15% discount on select price levels.
