#InCaseYouMissedIt: Barbosa closes out the 2023 regular season with a win in Louisville

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

By Darci Miller

The 2023 Unleash The Beast regular season is officially in the books, and all that remains is the 2023 PBR World Finals on May 12-21 in Fort Worth, Texas. In Louisville this weekend, nobody closed out their season better than Dener Barbosa. Plus, Chase Dougherty is riding better than ever, Brady Turgeon is turning heads, and more. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the Unleash The Beast…

It had been two years since Dener Barbosa notched a premier series victory, but that all changed in Louisville. Barbosa went 3-for-3 to take the win and finish the regular season ranked No. 5 in the race for the world title.

Barbosa led almost from wire to wire, winning Round 1 thanks to his ride on I’m Legit Too.

Two weeks after his first meeting with a sport psychologist, Chase Dougherty earned the first premier series event win of his career, and he kept up the momentum in Louisville.

Brady Turgeon has competed in just six Unleash The Beast events this season – and in his career – but it was enough for him to qualify for his first World Finals.

Meanwhile, on the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour…

Dakota Warnken won Round 1 of the season finale of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour in College Station, Texas

…but Dylan Smith ultimately went 2-for-3 to take the event win.

In the Touring Pro Division…

Kyle Jones went a perfect 2-for-2 to win the Team Series Combine Championship in Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas.
