CHARLESTON, W.V. – As the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event in Charleston, West Virginia, wound to a close Saturday night in front of a raucous crowd inside the Charleston Civic Center, Flavio Zivieri (Balsamo, Brazil) rode supreme, delivering a flawless 3-for-3 performance to win the ZipRecruiter Capital City Classic.

Zivieri got off to a quick start in Round 1 of the event when he went the distance atop Sundance (Damn Skippy Ranch/S&S Bucking Bulls) for 79.5 points.

Positioned eighth on the event leaderboard, Zivieri climbed the standings in the second round of competition when he covered Next Question (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls) for 85 points.

The surging Brazilian then clinched the event win in the championship round when he conquered Yukon Jack (Triple C Bucking Bulls) for a round-winning 85.5 points.

The perfect performance earned Zivieri a crucial 135.5 Velocity Global points as he seeks his career-first Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Championship this May.

Second was Josh Stepp (Hendersonville, North Carolina), garnering 93 Velocity Global points.

Stepp first put points on the board in the opening round when be topped One Boot Patches (Obernagel/Sho-Me Rodeo) for 83 points.

The North Carolinian then lit up the scoreboard in Round 2 when he delivered the high-marked ride of the tour stop, scored 86 points atop High Hustler (Twisted Horns Cattle Co./Hearn).

Stepp’s hopes of victory, however, were dashed in the championship round when he was brought down by Oreo (Twisted Horns Cattle Co.) in a quick 1.29 seconds.

Carlos Garcia (Abingdon, Virginia) was third compliments of his 85.5-point ride on Red River (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls) in Round 2.

He left the Charleston Civic Center having earned 54 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 and tying for fourth was Claudio Montanha Jr. (Pacaembu, Brazil) and Brandon Ballard (New Hope, Kentucky), each posting 85-point rides during the PBR ZipRecruiter Capital City Classic.

Montanha won Round 1 via the score earned on Jeff (Julian Cattle), garnering 47 Velocity Global points.

For Ballard, he delivered the mark in Round 2 when he covered Contusion (White/Knapp Ranch).

The PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour next travels to Greenville, South Carolina, and Reno, Nevada, on Jan. 20-21.

The PBR Greenville Invitational at Bon Secours Wellness Arena gets underway on Friday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. EST and concludes on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. EST.

The PBR Reno Rumble at the Reno Events Center begins on Friday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. PST and will come to a climactic conclusion on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. PST.
