WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Carolina Cowboys delivered a performance that won’t soon be forgotten Saturday evening inside LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Registering a walk-off win against the Arizona Ridge Riders, the Cowboys overtook the No. 1 rank in the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series standings.  

In a game that was decided by the final outs, reigning PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen (Piffard, New York) delivered the go-ahead score as the Cowboys’ closer. His 87.75-point ride atop Jailhouse Cat (Clark View Farms/Phillips) not only earned his team their sixth-consecutive game win, but also allowed them to leapfrog the Ridge Riders for the No. 1 position in the league.

The Carolina Cowboys are now not only atop the league standings, but also lead the PBR Cowboy Days event standings as one of three teams to be a perfect 2-0 thus far in the Tar Heel State.

The Kansas City Outlaws also remained perfect in game play Saturday evening, besting the Texas Rattlers, presented by Ariat, 171-167.5 to improve to 2-0 and rise to second on the event leaderboard.

Riding in the lead-off game Saturday night, the Oklahoma Freedom narrowly edged the Austin Gamblers 86.75-83.25 to keep their perfect record intact at PBR Cowboy Days.

The Missouri Thunder logged their first win in North Carolina, beating the Nashville Stampede 252.25-246.75 in the highest-scoring game of the electric evening.

The Carolina Cowboys will also hold a free-to-attend, family-friendly fan festival at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, featuring racing activations, musical performances, cowboy church, local vendors and more. 

On Sunday, September 11 the festival will open at 10:00 a.m. at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. Cowboy Church will commence at 11:00 a.m. on the Tractor Supply Co. broadcast trailer, led by Robby Dilmore, while also featuring bull rider testimonials and remarks from Richard Childress.

Oklahoma Freedom: 86.75

Austin Gamblers: 83.25

With their debut homestand just days away, the Oklahoma Freedom continued to ride red-hot, knocking off the league No. 3 Austin Gamblers as PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series competition continued Saturday evening in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Following a scoreless first frame, both the Freedom and Gamblers were keen to reverse their fortunes in the second. First up was Austin Richardson (Dallas, Texas) for the Gamblers, but he failed to reach the 8, brought down in 3.16 seconds by Alter Ego (Fabulous IV Ranch/Josh & Dalton Walling).

The Freedom’s Briggs Madsen (Tremonton, Utah), however, was the first to crack the code. In perfect time with Heavens Gate (Fabulous IV Ranch/Josh & Dalton Walling), Madsen earned the Freedom’s first score, marked 86.75 points.

After the scoreboard remain unchanged in the third, despite a close call for Freedom rider Casey Roberts (Munford, Alabama), who was ultimately determined to have bucked off YETI’s Big Poison (Cowtown Rodeo) in a close 7.51 seconds, the game intensified in the fourth.

First to deliver a score for the Gamblers, Lucas Divino (Nova Crixas, Brazil) conquered Chickasaw (Fabulous IV Ranch/Josh & Dalton Walling) for 83.25 points, putting the Gamblers within 3.5 points of tying the Freedom.

After Freedom Captain Eli Vastbinder (Statesville, North Carolina) bucked off to close the fourth, it came down to newly-inked Ramon de Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil) for the Gamblers and Chase Outlaw (Hamburg, Arkansas) for the Freedom.

With neither rider able to make the 8, the Freedom eked out the win 86.75-83.25 against the Gamblers. The Freedom have now won three consecutive games, while the Gamblers have lost three-straight.

Following the game, the Oklahoma Freedom have improved to 7-8, while the Gamblers have slipped to 9-6.

When PBR Team Series competition inside LJVM Coliseum continues Sunday, September 11, the Oklahoma Freedom will look to remain perfect when they take on the Kansas City Outlaws, also unbeaten in North Carolina, while the Austin Gamblers will chase their first victory in the Tar Heel State when they play the Arizona Ridge Riders.
