WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Ahead of the 2022 season for the groundbreaking PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series, Carolina’s first-ever professional bull riding team, the Carolina Cowboys, have announced their inaugural game schedule. Carolina Cowboys’ 28-game 2022 PBR Team Series regular-season schedule is headlined by two appearances on the CBS Game of the Week, as well as showdowns with the Missouri Thunder, Arizona Ridge Riders and Nashville Stampede at the team’s first-ever home event, Cowboy Days, Sept. 9-11 at LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The PBR Team Series revolutionizes the sport of bull riding, transforming an individual sport into one in which riders join teams to compete in five-on-five bull riding games for a national championship. In the inaugural 2022 season, eight founding teams will compete: the Arizona Ridge Riders, Austin Gamblers, Kansas City Outlaws, Missouri Thunder, Nashville Stampede, Oklahoma Freedom, Texas Rattlers, and the Carolina’s own Carolina Cowboys.
Throughout the regular season, each team will compete in 28, head-to-head, five-on-five bull riding games¸ held across 10 events. The team with the highest aggregate score will be the game winner, and ties will be allowed.
Each team will host a three-day homestand, welcoming the seven other teams, while also competing in two neutral-site events, beginning with the season-launch event on July 25-26 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The season will conclude in Las Vegas on Nov. 4-6 when the teams will go head-to-head in the PBR Team Series Championship, vying to be crowned the Team Series Champions.
When the 2022 season gets underway July 25-26 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the Carolina Cowboys will compete against the Nashville Stampede and Arizona Ridge Riders.
During the preseason, the Carolina Cowboys posted a 2-2 record, including wins against the Texas Rattlers and Missouri Thunder in Bismarck, ND.
Following the event in Cheyenne, the PBR Team Series will hold events in Kansas City, Missouri, Anaheim, California, Nashville, Tennessee, and Austin, Texas, before the Carolina Cowboys host their inaugural homestand Sept. 9-11 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at LJVM Coliseum, the sixth event of the 2022 PBR Team Series season.
During their first-ever home event, the Carolina Cowboys will play the Missouri Thunder on Sept. 9, Arizona Ridge Riders on Sept. 10, and Nashville Stampede on Sept. 11.
