AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Gamblers, Central Texas’ newest professional sports team set to compete in the inaugural PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series, have signed Elijah Mora via free agency.

Mora, a 27-year-old native of Wiggins, Colorado, is the 59th-ranked rider in the world. Mora had three Top-5 finishes at events this past season, including winning the PBR Boot Barn Classic in Aggieland—a Velocity Tour event in College Station, Texas in April. He recently qualified for the 2022 Pendleton Whiskey Velocity Tour Finals in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mora is the fifth Gamblers rider to sign with the team via free agency, joining Dakota Louis, Ezekiel Mitchell, Griffin Smeltzer and Blake Smith. The five free agent signings follow the initial PBR Team Series Draft last month. Eight teams in the new bull riding league to begin regular-season competition in July participated in a five-round draft to begin building their rosters. In the draft, the Gamblers selected Jose Vitor Leme, Austin Richardson, Lucas Divino, Claudio Montanha Jr. and Conner Halverson.
