Daylon Swearingen on 126 Lone Survivor:
Swearingen should get another qualified ride here. Jose Vitor Leme was 90.25 points on this bull in Round 2, and Lone Survivor is 1-3 against left-handed riders overall. Swearingen is doing what he needs to do to hang on to the lead in the world standings. He’s keeping pace with Leme, Pacheco and Vieira so far. He just needs to do it for four more rounds.
Jose Vitor Leme on 663 Norse God:
This single most shocking thing that happened last night was Leme bucking off his re-ride bull Safety Meeting. The bull had a fantastic day, and Leme was a little too loose and let himself get brought forward a little too much, which threw him off balance. If you look at Leme’s Round 2 ride, he did the same thing but quickly recovered from it. What he’s doing is not necessarily a mistake – he’s letting the bull bring him forward a little to put himself back in position for the next jump. Riding bulls at this level is all about staying right on the verge of being tipped too far forward. When you see a guy doing everything right mechanically, the only time he will get bucked off is when bulls get him too far out over the front. If you made a compilation tape of Leme’s buckoffs, you would see this happen almost every time. The same thing with Norman Curry in his day, Jim Sharp, and many other exceptionally effective riders.
This bull is very similar to Safety Meeting but not quite as fast. This should be a slam dunk for Leme. What happened last night was kind of a fluke, and I wouldn’t bet on it happening again.
Ramon de Lima on 66C Harold’s Genuine Risk:
Harold’s Genuine Risk has been in the game since 2018, and he’s one of the most extreme examples of a bull that is easier for riders with one hand vs. the other; he’s 4-10 against lefties and 15-2 against righties. Therefore, left-handed guys are always a safe bet to get by him. Lima will probably pick up a third straight ride here after bucking off his first two and become a serious contender in the aggregate.
Cody Jesus on 72 Hundred Bad Days:
This kid really got past a big test last night. Moonlight Party didn’t have a great day with him, but he was miserably hard to ride, and Cody just gutted his way through it. He’s perfect so far and leading the event. Hundred Bad Days is pretty much a pattern spinner who likes to go to the left, but he earns a lot of buckoffs against big-name riders. This won’t be easy, but this is a matchup Jesus can handle – similar to his first two bulls here.

Joao Ricardo Vieira on M5 Soy El Fuego:
Vieira picked a veteran bull who has been to four PBR World Finals and three NFRs in his career so far. He’s not a pushover, but he is a decent fit for left-handed riders, and Vieira should get along with him. His trick is that he gets a lot of riders to the inside of the spin early in the ride, but if they get past that, he’s fairly normal. He can reverse the spin as well.
Kaique Pacheco on 839 Tortuga:
This is a lesser-known bull, but Pacheco picked him first in the draft. Rafael Henrique Dos Santos was 89.25 points on him earlier this season. Pacheco scouts bulls well and has a good eye for what will fit him, so I would expect this is a bull he has seen a couple of times and likes. Pacheco is quietly second in the aggregate after riding three straight bulls with a broken foot.

Brady Oleson on 791 Hey Bartender:
I would bet Brady Oleson has caught the eye of every team scouting riders at this event. He’s ridden two bulls he wasn’t matched up well against. He rode Big Black for 89.5 points last night, and while Big Black gets ridden a lot, he never gets ridden by right-handed guys. He picked a nice bull here. Daylon Swearingen was 89.5 points on him in Round 3, and he goes to the right.
Andrew Alvidrez on 8194 Blue Duck:
This bull fouled Mason Taylor in Round 1, but he was the rankest bull in the round aside from that. This is an old-school bull with real power. He’s worth keeping an eye on because he’s only 4 years old and looks like he will be a contender for World Champion Bull in years to come. Alvidrez is having a pretty good Finals so far, but this is a tough matchup.
