Round 1 of the PBR Gwinnett Invitational from Gas South Arena begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on RidePass on Pluto TV.
Jose Vitor Leme on 8194 Blue Duck:
Leme is back and ready to start his season here. This isn’t a very well-known bull. He has only five outs on record and has been ridden once. Leme has a high-ride probability against him because Leme pretty much has a good chance of riding every bull. He finished the 2021 season off by riding 12 straight bulls to the whistle on the premier series (15 overall). Leme capped it off with a world record score (98.75 points), a PBR Finals win and a world title. I’m guessing Leme’s biggest issue this season would be how does he get motivated to top all that? This is a hard sport, and he’s made it look ridiculously easy for two straight years.
Cody Teel on 04C LaGrande:
This is a very nice draw for Teel or pretty much any other rider here. LaGrande is not exceptionally fast, and he’s predictable to the point that it doesn’t really matter which way he spins – riders at this level are going to get along with him. Each of his jumps tends to follow the previous jump with few surprises. Teel is on a bit of an upswing right now. He’s ridden five of his last eight bulls, and should do well here.
Kaique Pacheco on 6X4 Walking Tall:
This is a prime matchup. Mason Taylor has gone 90.5 points on this bull twice, and he should fit Pacheco pretty well. Walking Tall’s style is reminiscent of 2015 World Champion Bull Long John – big jumps, doesn’t cover much ground and has a straightforward focus on buck rather than spin. Long John’s sire Showtime is the grand sire to this bull as well, so they are related. Pacheco usually does well on bulls like this. His fundamentals are so sound it’s hard for a bull to buck hard enough to rattle him.

Alex Cardozo on 611 Kid Knapper:
Cody Teel and Kaique Pacheco both rode this bull at the World Finals, and Teel was 91.75 points on him. Cardozo has quietly improved his riding over the past couple of years – mostly at lower-level PBR events and rodeos. He was 3-for-3 in New York to finish third in the event and is ranked eighth in the world right now.
Cooper Davis on 446B Jaywalker:
This bull has been around for a while. He appeared at the World Finals in 2018 and 2019. He’s definitely not easy to ride, and there are a lot of nicer bulls Davis could have drawn in this round. Jaywalker is 15-1 against right-handed guys. He can be out of line, but Davis has certainly ridden tougher bulls than this before.
Brennon Eldred on 7315 Gangster Bones:
Dalton Kasel was 90 points on this bull in Indianapolis, but to do that he got by a stumble that few riders would have been able to handle. This bull can be pretty strong, but he’s likely to go into Eldred’s hand here. Eldred missed a good bit of last year with injury, and even aside from that he wasn’t having a great season in 2021. He’s probably looking to start this season off on a better note, and he has a chance to do that on this bull.

Cannon Cravens on 43 Roulette:
This is one of the nicer draws in the round. Roulette may not get around much, but when he does, he gets ridden pretty often, especially by the top guys. He’s probably not enough bull to win the round on, but Cravens really just needs scores to get back in the groove after missing pretty much all of last year.
Chase Dougherty on D10 Cooter Brown:
Dougherty is due for a nice draw, and this is one. Cooter Brown doesn’t have a long history, but he’s been ridden a couple of times in seven career outs. He’s a pattern spinner with good timing who likes to go to the left. Left-handed guys at this level should be able to handle him.
