GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In front of a raucous crowd at Van Andel Arena Friday evening, Justin Houston (Myrtle Point, Oregon) was electric, delivering the top score of the night for the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) event to win Round 1 of the Tractor Supply Co. Classic in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Houston squared off against Crime Time (C Check Bucking Bulls) in Round 1.

When the bovine athlete last bucked, he teamed with Unleash The Beast standout Ezekiel Michell (Rockdale, Texas) for a Round 1-winning, 88.5-point score at the elite tour stop in Chicago.

Poised, Houston collected his own round win aboard Crime Time, matching the bull jump-for-jump en route to an 86.5-point sore.

In addition to catapulting him to the top of the event leaderboard during an evening that included 12 qualified rides, the score also earned Houston seven world points.

The Great Lake State crowd was brought to its feet during the first out as Michigan’s own Hunter Ball (Carsonville, Michigan) recorded the tour stop’s first 8-second effort.

Riding Malaka (Jenkins Cattle Co.) for 84.5 points, Ball tied for fourth alongside Casey Coulter (Kirksville, Missouri), Jake Davis (McCleary, Washington) and Cimarron Rucker (Liberty, Texas).

Coulter covered Panic Button (Generations Pro Rodeo Inc.), while Davis outlasted Brindle Hurricane (Generations Pro Rodeo) and Rucker made the requisite 8 atop Superman (CG Bucking Bulls/Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC).

Each rider left Van Andel Arena having earned 1.25 world points.

Grayson Cole (New Ringgold, Pennsylvania) was second in Round 1 of the PRB Tractor Supply Co. Classic, earning four world points.

He clinched the silver finish courtesy of an 86-point effort aboard Pneu Dart’s Black Label (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls).

Rounding out the Top 5 in third was Mason Moody (Letcher, South Dakota).

Moody rode High Pearl (C Check Bucking Bulls) for 85 points to earn three points in the early 2022 PBR World Championship race.

PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour action from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Van Andel Arena continues on Saturday, January 29, with Round 2 and the championship round. Action gets underway at 7 p.m. EST.
