Kaique Pacheco on 665 Air Tight Alibi:
Pacheco got by a little-known bull last night, and he has another one in Round 2. Alibi has only five outs on record, but he’s been ridden a couple of times. He likes to go to the left, so he will be away from Pacheco’s hand. He can hesitate, even be a little sluggish at times. He gets up in his front end but doesn’t have much drop or power. The danger for Pacheco is this bull could leave him hanging and lunge out from under him, but the odds are that Pacheco will manhandle him.
Cooper Davis on M63 Blacklist:
Davis had an advantage in the draw in Round 1 and rode it to an 88-point score and third-place finish. Not the case here. Blacklist is 4-0 but hasn’t faced any top-tier riders. This is the same situation Pacheco was in last night, and it worked out alright for him.
Daylon Swearingen on D8 Tested & Bruised:
Swearingen really drew well in both rounds. He won Round 1 and has a decent chance to win this round as well. Tested & Bruised isn’t particularly easy, but he’s been good to left-handed riders. Swearingen thrives on bulls that go into his hand, and he tends to make bulls look good.
Adriano Salgado on 703 Bullet Train:
Salgado is something of a newcomer, but he’s six for his last seven. He took advantage of a great draw to finish second in Round 1, and like Davis and Pacheco, he has something of an unproven bull here in Round 2. Bullet Train has been ridden once in four career outs, and he hasn’t faced any high-level riders yet.
Derek Kolbaba on 138 M.A.G.A.
Kolbaba was 87.25 on this bull back in 2019 – the only time they have met. M.A.G.A. is a great all-around draw. He’s usually good enough to place on, and he’s vulnerable to the top riders. He’s a veteran, too, with 51 career outs. He’s been ridden 21 times, but only four of those went for round wins.
Joao Ricardo Vieira on 206 Burn it Down:
Vieira drew tough here. Burn it Down is one of the more difficult bulls in the round. He’s well-proven against every kind of rider, and Vieira bucked off of him back in 2017. This bull can yank on a rider’s arm the first couple of jumps, and it is hard to get settled on him. If Vieira can get by the first few jumps without getting snatched out of position, he has a chance to go the distance.
Matt Triplett on S30 Milk Man:
This is a great bull we haven’t seen at all this year. He’s a great draw for Triplett as well. He’s way nicer to right-handed riders, and guys turned in several big scores on him in 2020.
Cody Casper on 618D XO:
Casper had the lowest ride probability in Round 1 and beat the odds by turning in a score on one of the PBR’s toughest bulls. He has a better draw in Round 2. XO went through a streak where he was ridden six times in seven outs earlier this year. This bull will probably go away from his hand, but he is still way more rider-friendly than Casper’s first-round bull.
Jesse Petri on B1 Cajun Moon:
This bull is not a pushover, but he is pretty good to left-handed riders, and Petri likes bulls that go into his hand. Petri bucked off in Round 1, so this is an all-or-nothing matchup for him.
