CHURCH ROCK, N.M. – Ahead of the first-ever PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event in Church Rock, New Mexico, the league has announced four Navajo bull riders who will contend for the event title at the fan-attended PBR Buckin’ At The Rock at the picturesque Red Rock Park Sept. 18.

For one night only in New Mexico, some of the best bull riders in the world will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes in the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast in one of the most exciting live sporting events to witness.

Among the 40 world-class bull riders anticipated to compete will be Native American standouts Justin Granger (Tuba City, Arizona), Latrell Long (Dilkon, Arizona), Ramon Curley (Coolfield, Arizona) and Wyatt Betony (Tuba City, Arizona).

A veteran of the sport, 30-year-old Granger is no stranger to competing on some of PBR’s biggest stages.

Granger has appeared numerous times on the elite Unleash The Beast and competed for the historic all Native American Team USA Wolves at the first-ever PBR Global Cup on American soil in 2019.

Long will be making his PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour debut at the Buckin’ At The Rock. After being crowned the 2016 INFR (Indian National Final Rodeo) Jr. Bull Riding Champion, Long captured the Bull Riding World Championship just two short years later in 2018.

Curley made a splash during his PBR debut in 2018, winning his first-ever event with the league after dominating in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Buckin’ At The Rock will mark Curley’s first PBR event since September 2018, when he competed on the Velocity Tour in Window Rock, Arizona.

Betony completes the quartet of Navajo riders anticipated to compete at Red Rock Park, readying to return to PBR competition for the first time since 2014.

In his time away from the league, Betony was a standout for the Diné College rodeo team, qualifying for the College National Finals rodeo multiple times.

The bull riding action for the PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s Buckin’ At The Rock begins at 7:00 p.m. MDT on Saturday, September 18 at Red Rock Park.

On Saturday evening, all 40 competing riders will attempt one bull each in Round 1. Following the opening round, the Top 10 will then advance to the championship round, where they will attempt one final bull, all in an effort to be crowned the event champion.

Tickets for the event are on sale now.

Advance General Admission tickets are priced at $33, taxes and fees included. Eventgoers are encouraged to purchase their tickets early, with the cost of admission increasing by $7 on event day. They can be purchased online at any time through PBRTIX.com or on event day at the Red Rock Park box office.

Throughout the 2021 season, PBR will continue to commit to providing a safe environment for fans, athletes, employees, and crew by working with its venue partners to implement health and safety protocols for live events while following health guidance from local and state officials.
