But that’s not all: programming is now available on demand! In the words of PBR Commissioner Sean Gleason: “Simply go to Pluto TV, click On Demand and search for PBR RidePass. You will find dozens of programs currently available, with more being added every day. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we implement these positive changes and manage the logistic and technical challenges.”
LIVE THIS WEEK: The Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour heads to Columbia, South Carolina, for the Carolina Classic. All the action will be live on RidePass on Pluto TV on Aug. 7 beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
Last week, the Velocity Tour was in Memphis for the Bluff City Classic. Andrew Alvidrez went 2-for-2 to take the event win in a slugfest against Lane Nobles and Cole Skender, who also went 2-for-2; Alvidrez beat Nobles by a single point in the aggregate, and Skender by four points.
The win earned Alvidrez 39 points, propelling him to the No. 32 rank in the world standings and a guaranteed berth on the Unleash The Beast. In fact, Alvidrez, Nobles and Skender will all be competing this weekend at the Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Classic in Sacramento, California.
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Velocity Tour events are instrumental in the race to the World Finals. You don’t want to miss out!
ON-DEMAND SPOTLIGHT: In case you missed it this past weekend, reigning PBR World Champion and current world No. 1 Jose Vitor Leme rode Woopaa for an astounding 97.75 points – the new highest-scoring ride in PBR history. If you haven’t watched that yet, you really should.
Prior to Leme’s eye-popping ride, the highest score in PBR history was 96.5, achieved by three men: Bubba Dunn, Michael Gaffney and Chris Shivers. Dunn was the first to do so when he rode Promise Land in Tampa, Florida, in 1999, followed by Shivers, one year later in Tampa, aboard Jim Jam. Gaffney notched the score aboard Little Yellow Jacket in 2004 in Nampa, Idaho.
Want to see what 96.5 points looked like at the turn of the century? We got you.
Party like it’s 1999 with the event replay from Tampa in 1999 to see Dunn’s heroics, and take it back to 2000 to watch Shivers take his turn.
Pluto TV on RidePass features select premier series events dating back to the PBR’s inaugural 1994 season – we think a binge watch is in order!
