Marquis Metal Works Coriolis Effect jumps to No. 4 in YETI World Champion Bull standings

Marquis Metal Works Coriolis Effect bucked off Mason Taylor for a bull score of 46.25 points.

LAS VEGAS – Jeremy Walker of Paradigm Bull Company just had to nod his head on Saturday night.

Marquis Metal Works Coriolis Effect had erupted from the bucking chutes during the championship round of the PBR Las Vegas Invitational and quickly sent Mason Taylor to the MGM Grand Arena dirt in 3 seconds.

Coriolis Effect was scored a career-best 46.25 points to propel himself to the No. 4 ranking in the YETI World Champion Bull standings.

“Hey, that’ll work,” Walker said. “Mason got out on him, and he bucked hard. I’ll take it.”

Coriolis Effect did give Taylor some trouble inside the bucking chute before Taylor nodding for the gate, but the 21-year-old bull rider was not going to make any excuses.

“No, it was not that bad,” Taylor said. “I kind of quit letting that stuff get me rattled up before I get on. I was just wanting to stomp him so bad. I wanted Jeremy to quit talking about him.”

Walker was proud of Taylor’s effort.

“Mason got him and picked him and wanted to get out on him,” Walker said. “If he keeps picking him, he’ll get him rode. He looked good to me.”

Coriolis Effect has bucked off 14 consecutive riders on the Unleash The Beast since Joao Ricardo Vieira rode him for 89.5 points in Fort Worth, Texas, last season.

The 5-year-old is 15-1 on the UTB since making his premier series debut last year in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

“He’s big,” Taylor said. “He ain’t very strong. He ain’t strong at all, actually, because I wasn’t anywhere I was supposed to be when I left. He just kind of reared out of there real big and kind of got me sitting on my butt. And man, I think if you just ride him like you’re supposed to, that bull is going to feel like a good one to get on.”

The Unleash The Beast is now on a six-week break until Last Cowboy Standing at Cheyenne Frontier Days on July 26-27.

Walker plans to let Coriolis Effect enjoy some time off before hauling him to Cheyenne and continuing a potential push at the 2021 World Champion Bull title.

Walker now has two bulls in the Top 5 of the standings with Coriolis Effect and No. 2 Marquis Metal Works Red Clark.
