Brennon Eldred on 537C Air Assault:
Nice matchup here. This bull should be all out into Eldred’s hand, and he’s been ridden a few times by right-handed riders for big scores. Air Assault has given up four round wins in just six qualified rides. Eldred will not have an easy night, but it may turn out good for him.
Joao Ricardo Vieira on D8 Tested and Bruised:
Vieira was 85 points on this bull in Salt Lake City, Utah just over a month ago. Tested and Bruised has been pretty good to left-handed riders and weak against high level riders. That makes this a mismatch in Vieira’s favor, but the problem is this probably won’t win the round. Vieira and Lockwood both need to go on a round-dominating streak from now until the short round of the finals to have a chance at catching Leme in the world standings.
J.B. Mauney on 4C Audacious:
This is the sweetest draw in this round, and he’s even sweeter for a lefty. Mauney is a heavy favorite here, and could place well on this bull, but he will have to squeeze every point possible out of this to win the round. Audacious has perfect timing, and goes to the left. If there’s any downside here, it’s that Mauney is stronger against bulls that are harder to ride than this one. Audacious is the bull of Daylon Swearingen’s dreams.

Jess Lockwood on 151 Night Shift:
This could be a round win. Night Shift is a high leaping, crowd pleasing bull. He’s not particularly easy to ride, but Lockwood is certainly capable of getting the job done. This bull has been ridden twice in his career, both times for over 88 points. He carried Leme to second place in the short round and an event win in St. Louis early this season.
Eduardo Aparecido on 517 Space Force:
This is a good matchup for Aparecido. Space Force should spin into his hand and shouldn’t offer up any surprises. He’s exactly the kind of bull Aparecido has always done well against. It may be tough to pull off a round win, but Aparecido should get a solid score and place well in the opening round.
Derek Kolbaba on 22 Sam I Am:
This bull looks the part. He can go both ways and will not let riders coast to an easy score, but in nine career outs he’s given up four qualified rides – two of those for round wins. Kolbaba will have to be on his toes here, but he should be able to handle this bull.
Stetson Lawrence on 584 Foghorn Leghorn:
Foghorn Leghorn has a lot of spin, but not so much power. He goes to the left, and he’s been pretty good to left-handed riders. Daylon Swearingen won a round on him with 88.5 points in Salt Lake City in August. Lawrence has a chance here. This bull should be a good fit for him.
Kaique Pacheco on 397A Frequent Flyer:
It’s been a while since we’ve seen this bull, but he’s a heavy hitter. Frequent Flyer has been an ABBI futurity champion, he’s been to four PBR World Finals, and he’s been notoriously hard for riders his entire career. He’s 19-1 against right-handed riders, so the odds are against Pacheco here, but Pacheco is capable of riding anything. Pacheco’s ability combined with a bull that’s stronger than most long-round bulls could turn into a bif ride here.
Jose Vitor Leme on SG1 Gangster Time:
Leme leads the world standings by twice the points any other rider has, with the exception of Joao Vieira, who trails by 545 points. For any rider to have a realistic chance to catch him, I believe they need to be within 500 points by the time the Finals starts, or they need Leme to go on a losing streak, or ideally, both. This matchup is not the best for those guys, because Leme will probably ride this bull easily.
