#InCaseYouMissedIt: Gwinnett Invitational

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

By Darci Miller

With no fans in the arena and only essential staff on hand, the bulls kept on bucking at the Gwinnett Invitational. Dener Barbosa got back to his winning ways, Mauricio Gula Moreira made a move up the world standings and everyone adjusted to unprecedented circumstances. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

Inside Duluth…

Two years ago, Dener Barbosa broke his foot in Duluth, all but ending his world title hopes. This year, Barbosa went 3-for-3 to win the second premier series event of his career and move to No. 6 in the world standings.

In just the second premier series event of his career, Mauricio Gula Moreira won Round 1 to crack the Top 35 of the world standings.

Even riding in an environment likened to a practice pen, it was almost business as usual in Duluth as the bull riders got back to their roots to get the job done.

Dive into the facts and figures of the Gwinnett Invitational, including who made major moves up the world standings, which career milestone Silvano Alves is inching towards and more.

Yahoo Sports was on hand to document the only live sporting event in the Lower 48.

Social spotlight

It was an interesting weekend for everyone, and the PBR community took to social media to react.

To say riding in an empty arena is different would be an understatement. But thankful to still be able to compete and do what I love to do!
