PUEBLO, Colo. – The 2019 Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Finals take over the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa on Friday and Saturday as 48 riders compete for the prestigious event title of the PBR’s expansion tour. Since the inaugural event in 2014, the Velocity Tour Finals have seen some rank rides from some of the PBR’s top riders, and you’re all but guaranteed to see a world title contender make the whistle for a monster score.

A crucial step in Lockwood’s journey to the 2017 world title was a fourth-place finish at the Velocity Tour Finals. Lockwood went 3-for-4 and kicked off his showing with a 91-point ride on Night Sweats in Round 1, the highest-scored ride in Velocity Tour Finals history.

Castro went just 1-for-3 in 2017, but he made his one qualified ride count in a big way. He won Round 2 with his 90.5-point ride on Big Black and earned 80 points toward the world standings.
Da Silva finished fifth overall at the Velocity Tour Finals in 2016, going 2-for-4 and winning Round 1 with his 89.5-point ride on Cracker Breaker. Silva earned a Wild Card invite to his first World Finals thanks to the performance.
In 2018, Outlaw was in the midst of an incredible comeback from facial reconstructive surgery when he attended the Velocity Tour Finals. He rode his seventh consecutive bull when he covered Bowie Daze for 88.5 points to win Round 1. He went on to win the event, improving from No. 35 to No. 22 in the world and qualifying for the PBR World Finals.

Outlaw also won the Velocity Tour Finals in 2016 after missing the first six months of the season due to reconstructive left shoulder surgery. He won both the Velocity Tour Finals and Velocity Tour championship behind a 3-for-4 performance, winning Round 1 with his 88.5-point ride on Ms. Kitty’s Peacemaker.
Gay won the Velocity Tour Finals in 2015 on the back of a 3-for-3 performance, including a Round 3 win with his 88.5-point ride on Legal Tender.
