Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour roars into 2020 with 24 first-half events

Fastest-growing tour on PBR circuit takes aim at six new markets before May 2020.

By Easton Colvin

PUEBLO, Colo. – After a record-setting 2019, the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) is gearing up to bring fans even more action in 2020. The much-anticipated schedule starts at a breakneck pace with 24 first-half events and visits to six new markets.

After starting the season off on both coasts during the same weekend, with doubled-up events in Oakland, Calif., and Jacksonville, Fla., the PWVT is bucking into new cities like Baltimore, Md.; Spokane, Wash.; Memphis, Tenn.; San Luis Obispo, Calif.; Alexandria, La.; and Grand Forks, N.D., all before the month of May.

Along with opening weekend of the 2020 season, there will be six more “double-up” events, bringing the white-knuckle action of America’s original extreme sport to two cities at one time. While bulls are bucking in Portland, Oregon on January 18, competitors will also be seeking the 8 second whistle on the opposite coast of the country in Baltimore, Maryland. Other double-ups include: Lexington, Kentucky and Spokane, Washington on January 25, Knoxville, Tennessee and Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 1, Wheeling, West Virginia and Fresno, California on March 21, and San Luis Obispo, California and Grand Forks, North Dakota on April 17-18.

Fans can check PBR.com for tickets and on sale dates for each 2020 PWVT event, or call 800-732-1727 for more information.

Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) used critical PWVT points to propel him to the 2018 PBR World Championship, and his fellow countryman Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas Do Rio Pardo, Brazil) has picked up the plan in 2019, using three PWVT event wins to vault him into the world standings lead.

A tour that has experienced exponential growth in the last half-decade, and is now carried by RIDE TV, the PWVT has sold out eight events so far in 2019 including Reno, Nev.; Denver, Colo.; Bangor, Maine; and Hampton, Va. Attendance at tour events has increased +135% since 2014.

New to the PWVT, select markets in 2020 now offer PBR Premium Experiences – offering an enhanced PBR experience through a behind-the-chutes look into the toughest sport on dirt. Premium options include: early entry, tickets to a premium seating section, hospitality, a pre-event backstage tour by a PBR host that features a PBR 101 presentation and visit with the sport’s fiercest bovine athletes, and the opportunity for autographs and photos from the sport’s top stars.

For more information on all of the experiences that are offered, including PBR Premium Experiences, fans can contact PBR Direct at 800-732-1727.
