PBR | 2019 PBR World Finals bulls revealed

PUEBLO, Colo. – Following this weekend’s Cooper Tires Take the Money and Ride event in Nampa, Idaho, PBR Director of Livestock Cody Lambert and the PBR competition department have finalized the initial list of bulls slated to compete at the 2019 PBR World Finals on Nov. 6-10 at T-Mobile Arena.

World No. 1 bull Smooth Operator is heading to the World Finals for a sixth consecutive season and is in the hunt for his first World Championship.

Smooth Operator won the $25,000 bonus for being the top-ranked bull of the regular season with a World Champion average score of 45.84 points. He concluded the Unleash The Beast regular season with a 45.5-point score for bucking off Junio Quaresima in 1.48 seconds in Nampa.

The 9-year-old will now attempt to put together two monster outs at the World Finals, beginning in Round 2 on Nov. 7, to win his first World Championship and $100,000.

The 2019 YETI World Champion Bull will be the bull with the highest average bull score from his top eight regular-season outs and two outs at the PBR World Finals.

The YETI Bull of the Finals ($25,000) is awarded to the bull with the highest average between two outs at the World Finals. 2018 Bull of the Finals co-winners Legit and Hocus Pocus have qualified for the 2019 World Finals as well.

Three-time World Champion SweetPro’s Bruiser (45.38) is fifth in the World Champion Bull race and still in contention for a record-setting fourth world title after being selected for his sixth World Finals.

Meanwhile, No. 2 Smooth Wreck (45.69) earned a last minute spot at the World Finals with a 7.45-second buckoff of Chase Outlaw this past weekend. He had originally been left off Lambert’s list due to poor performances in August and September.

No. 3 Fearless (45.59) and No. 4 Heartbreak Kid (45.56) round out the Top 5 in the World Champion bull race. Heartbreak Kid, who had gone 38 outs without a qualified ride, is coming off back-to-back outs in which he was marked 46 points or higher during 2017 World Champion Jess Lockwood’s two qualified rides – 93.75 and 94 points.

Reigning Stock Contractor of the Year Chad Berger leads all trucks going to Las Vegas with 23 non-ABBI bulls selected. Berger also has two additional ABBI Classic bulls competing in The Right Stuff and Good Night Robicheaux to bring his total to 25.

The Top 35 ABBI Classic Bulls, as well as five approved bulls from the ABBI Wildcard event from the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event on Nov. 2-3, will also be competing at T-Mobile Arena during the World Finals. The Classic event winner walks away with $100,000, as does the World Champion Classic bull.

The Top 5 bulls in the ABBI Classic standings heading into Las Vegas are Chiseled, I’m Legit Too, Sun Country, The Right Stuff and Night Hawk.
