BANGOR, Maine – On the second night of PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whiskey Velocity Tour (PWVT) action inside the Cross Insurance Center, Bryan Titman (East Bernard, Texas) recorded the high-marked ride of his career to win Round 2 of the Bangor Classic.
After beginning the three-day stop with an 85-point ride on Face Space (J Bar W) in Round 1, Titman remained flawless in Round 2, bringing the raucous New England crowd to its feet when he made the 8 aboard Mud Duck (Cornwell Bucking Bulls/Circle G) for 89 points.
Compliments of the ride, Titman netted 50 world points and is now tied for second overall in the event heading into the final day of competition.
Rafael Marcelino de Montanha (Riverao Dos Indios, Brazil) rebounded from a 4.09-second buckoff of Stealing Thunder (J Bar W) in Round 1, recording his first qualified ride of the Maine event Saturday evening. For his 8-second trip aboard fellow J Bar W bovine athlete Movin’ On Up, Montanha finished second in Round 2 to pocket 25 world points.
On the overall event leaderboard, Montanha will enter the final day of competition eleventh.
Three athletes tied for fifth to collect 3.33 world points each after the trio all scored 87.5 points aboard their second round opponents. Ouncie Mitchell (Fresno, Texas) rode Yeti (J Bar W), while Kache Moosman (Price, Utah) covered Lab Rat (Cornwell Bucking Bulls/Circle G/Coleman), and Austin Richardson (Wilmer, Texas) conquered Amish Screamer (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls).
In the event standings, Mitchell leads the trio, tied for second with Titman after he covered Thunderstruck (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) in Round 1 for 86.5 points. For both Moosman and Richardson the ride was their first of the event, landing them twelfth overall thus far at the Bangor Classic.
After winning Round 1 for his 88.5-point ride on Levi (Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC), Eduardo de Oliveira (Nova Lacerda, Brazil) retained his spot atop the leaderboard Saturday evening via his 86.5-point ride on Podunk (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls).
In the event aggregate, he leads second-place riders Mitchell and Titman by one point.
Cody Rodeo Tyler (Guthrie, Oklahoma) will enter Round 3 tied with Cristiano Figueredo (Sapucaia do Norte, Brazil) for fourth in the event.
Oklahoman Tyler started the event with an 85-point ride on Devil Dog (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) and remained perfect in Round 2 when he covered Earthquake (J Bar W) for 86.5 points.
For Figueredo, he covered Shadow Recruit (Broken Arrow Bucking Bulls) for 86.5 points in Round 1, and Crazed Addiction (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) for 85 points in Round 2.
Entering Round 3 of the three-day event the following riders have also gone a perfect 2-for-2: Tye Chandler (Celina, Texas), Alex Jenks (Vale, North Carolina), Luis Blanco (Iacanga, Brazil), Lawson Nobbs (Moura, Queensland, Australia) and Brazilian Caic Cassio Carvalho.
