Bad Touch improves to 30-0 with Little Rock buckoff

Bad Touch bucked off Taylor Toves in the championship round to remain undefeated.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Taylor Toves didn’t realize the mistake he made during the Bad Boy Mowdown championship round draft until he got back behind the bucking chutes on Saturday night.

The rookie had a list of bulls he had hoped to select in the draft at Verizon Arena, but once he got on top of the shark cage, they were all gone.

Therefore, he selected the first bull he saw with the 12th pick of the championship round draft.

Bad Touch.

Lo and behold, Toves selected the undefeated bovine beast and it wasn’t long until he learned why his buddies questioned his decision-making.

Bad Touch blasted Toves in a brief 3 seconds in the championship round, extending his consecutive buckoff streak on the premier series to 30 and overall at all levels of competition to 45.

“He’s just got so much forward movement to him,” Toves said. “I really felt like I got around there good, like I felt like I was way out over my rope and in front of it and out there where I needed to be. Then when his front feet hit the ground, it just took everything I had and pulled it back behind me. My arm got behind me, and then he stepped ahead again and it just wrung me out and slammed me.

“So it’s just a simple mistake on my part. I should ride that bull anyway.”

Toves said at the end of day he still has to be a cowboy and ride his bull regardless.

“Everybody kind of asked me why I picked him, but either way that bull’s going to be hard to get by,” Toves said. “He is going to be hard to get by. He is going to try you every time. He is definitely one you should still ride anyway. You should ride everything here.”

Kenny McElroy has been repeatedly asked by riders about what Bad Touch’s secret is, and he is still is not sure what to tell them.

“I don’t know what the answer is for a rider,” McElroy said. “That bull kind of really moves forward a bit and he really rocks those guys back. He then he follows it up with a great, big kick. He is just strong. Everybody you talk to is like, ‘Man, when he comes around the corner it is like hitting a wall.’ That shows he is bringing a lot of power.”

McElroy plans on bucking Bad Touch next weekend at the U.S. Border Patrol Invitationalin Duluth, Georgia.

Bad Touch is 3-0 this season and is averaging 43.42 points per out.

The 8-year-old bull was scored 43.25 points on Saturday night.

McElroy would like to see him get scored higher, but either way his bull is still undefeated.

“I thought he was well under-marked,” McElroy said. “I don’t know why they don’t mark that bull. He is 30-0 for a reason. It is what it is. As long as he keeps doing his job and (PBR Director of Livestock) Cody Lambert marks him down that he likes what he is doing, I’m OK.

“The streak is still alive.”
