YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – With equal 89-point scores, veteran Michael Lane (Tazwell, Virginia) and newcomer Danilo Carlos Sobrinho (Tupa, Brazil) split the first night of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Youngstown Invitational on Friday.

Lane earned the first ride of the night when he covered Resident Evil (JQH Bucking Bulls/Skip & Elaine Jones) for 89 points during Round 1 of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event inside the Covelli Center.

Sobrinho tied the score just six riders later when he made the whistle aboard Blame It On The Whiskey (JQH Bucking Bulls/Skip & Elaine Jones). He has finished in the top-five in the last three Velocity Tour events he’s competed in.

The pair each earned 37.5 points towards the PBR world standings.

Four riders tied for third place. Hometown rider, Allen Burkholder (Millersburg, Ohio) rode Smooth Air (GT Bucking Bulls/Hart Cattle), Eli Miller (Statesville, N.C.) covered Gump (Kiser/Barrett Willis Bucking Stock, LLC), Luis Blanco went 8 on Simple Man (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls) while Taylor Toves found points when he covered Found Jesus (Richard & Teri Braun/Wallgren Bull Co.). Each rider rode their bull for 86 points.

The four bull riders picked up 2.5 world points apiece.

The Covelli Center will host Round 2 and the championship round on Saturday night beginning at 6:45 p.m. ET.
