COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – During night one of the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) “home” event, just up the road from headquarters in Pueblo, Colorado, Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil) won Round 1 of the Colorado Springs Classic at the Broadmoor World Arena on Friday night.

On the second to last ride of the night, the 2017 PBR Rookie of the Year conquered Sharky (Cantankerous/Major League Bucking Bulls) for 88.5 points to take the early lead in the two-day event.

The progressive 45-man event saw 30 riders advance to Round 2 on Saturday.

18-year old Cannon Cravens (Porum, Oklahoma) was the first rider out of the gate and took the early lead on Magic Mike (Phenom/JCL/Swalin/Goods Bucking Bulls) for 87.5 points.

Tying Cravens for second place was Ricky Aguiar (Stephenville, Texas) who tallied his own 87.5-point score aboard Sledge Hammer (Cunningham/Scroggins).

Two riders tied for fourth place. Danilo Carlos Sobrinho (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Mason Taylor (Maypearl, Texas) each put up equal 87-point scores.

Sobrinho rode Snoop Dog (TDS Bucking Bulls) while Taylor made the whistle on Cadillac Jack (TDS Bucking Bulls).

Oklahoma cowboy Brennon Eldred (Sulphur) rounded out the Top 5 after covering Updown Updown (Flip’em Buck’en Bulls/Knapp) for 86.5 points.

The Colorado Springs Classic continues tomorrow night at the World Arena at 7:00 p.m. MT. The top riders on the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) will all get on one more bull before the Top 10 in the event move on to the championship round.
