BANGOR, Maine – In front of a sold-out crowd, Colten Jesse (Konawa, Okla.) took the buckle at the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) Bangor Classic on Sunday at the Cross Insurance Center.
Jesse went 3-for-3 in the event as he rode both bulls on Sunday, scoring 82 points aboard Happy Jack (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in Round 2 before earning 82.5 points on Blue Beacon (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in the championship round. With the win he earned 120 points toward the world standings, along with $5,500.
Winners of each 2018 Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour event will be guaranteed a minimum of one opportunity to compete at a regular-season 25th PBR: Unleash The Beast event and with his victory in Bangor, Jesse has been invited to the Last Cowboy Standing at Helldorado Days in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 4-6.
The winner of Round 1, Danilo Carlos Sobrinho also went 3-for-3 in the two-day event. Sobrinho finished in second place after riding to 79.5 points on Politically Incorrect (J Bar W Bulls) in Round 2 and then in the Championship Round, he covered True Story (Twisted 3 Cattle Co./Cornwell Bucking Bulls) for 78.5 points. With the finish he earned 70 points toward the world standings along with $4,700.
Third place was solidified by Eric Lee (Adrian, Mich.) after he rode to 84 points aboard Darlin (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in Round 2. In the Championship Round, Lee earned 86 points on Spike (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) as he took home a check for $3,200 and 40 world points.
Dakota Eagleburger (Fair Grove, Mo.) will be walking away from the weekend with a fourth-place finish after an 80.5 point ride on Shamrock (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in Round 2. He earned $1,400 and 20 world points.
Troy Wilkinson (New South Whales, Australia) finished in fifth-place after covering Air Lift (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 77 points in the championship round. Wilkinson earned 15 world points and a check for $1,140.
The top bulls in the Bangor Classic were Lab Rat (Cornwell Bucking Bulls/Circle G/ Coleman) and Watch Me Go (Triple R Bull Co.). Each had identical 43.5 scores in Round 2.
The Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour is next heading to Casper, Wyoming on April 7 to the Casper Events Center.
The 2018 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas in 2018, leading into the PBR’s 25th Anniversary World Finals at T-Mobile Arena.
