Michael Lane wins the Real Time Pain Relief Frontier Communications Battle

Michael Lane wins the Real Time Pain Relief Frontier Communications Battle in Hartford, Connecticut with an 85-point ride on Blue Duck and earns 80 world points.

HARTFORD, Ct. – Michael Lane from Tazewell, VA won the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) Frontier Communications Battle at the XL Center in Hartford, CT.

Lane took the buckle after scoring 84.5 points aboard Curly Drifter (Mike Miller/Torres Bros) in Round 1 and then closing out with an 85-point ride on Blue Duck (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in the championship round. Lane earned 80 points toward the world standings and $6,650.

Winners of each RVT event in 2017 will be guaranteed at least one opportunity to compete at a PBR Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) regular-season event. As a result of his victory in Hartford, Lane earned an invitation to the DeWalt Guaranteed Tough Invitational in Nampa Idaho, October 7-8.

Keyshawn Whitehorse (The Woodlands, TX) solidified the second-place slot. He covered both bulls in Rounds 1 and Round 2.  Whitehorse earned an 84.5 and 82 covering Blue On Black (J Bar W Ranch) and Pneu-Dart’s Doomsday (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls), respectively.  Whitehorse earned 50 points toward the world standings and $$4,650.

Third place was secured by Joseph McConnel (Bloomfield, NM) who earned 30 points toward the world standings and $3,300.

Fraser Babbington (Gisborne, NZ, NZL) placed fourth and took home a check for $2,300 and 20 points towards the world standings.

Eli Miller (Statesville, North Carolina) and Eduardo de Oliveira rounded out the Top 5 after tying with 83.5 points.  Miller and de Oliveira each won $700 and earned 12.5 points.

The next stop on the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will be in Albany, New York for the Albany Classic on October 7 at the Times Union Center.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov. 1-5 at T-Mobile Arena.
