Musical acts for PBR’s fan fest in Nashville have been set

The best up-and-coming country stars will take the stage at the PBR Fan Fest outside Nashville's Bridgestone Arena before the Music City Knockout.

By PBR

PUEBLO, Colo. – During the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Built Ford Tough Music City Knockout, presented by Cooper Tires, fans will not only be able to watch the top bull riders in the world during the two days of competition but will also be able to experience the interactive fan zone outside Bridgestone Arena.

The fan zone will be open to the public on Friday, Aug. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 19 from 3 to 7 p.m.  The Fan Fest will be held at the Bridgestone Arena plaza.

Along with PBR sponsor booths, autograph signings by the Matador Jerky Bullfighters and drinking sampling and food trucks, live music will be happening at the stage in the plaza while the fan zone is open.

Every 30 minutes another up-and-coming musician will take to the stage. Clare Dunn will headline the list of artists for Friday night while Kasey Tyndall will be the headliner on Saturday.

Dunn’s current single “Tuxedo” is her highest chart-topping song since her debut in 2013. Dunn moved to Nashville from Colorado and sang backing vocals for Luke Bryan before breaking out on her own. She received support from SiriusXM’s “The Highway” when she was named a Highway Find. She has opened for notable acts such as Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban and Hank Williams Jr.

Also on Friday, Tara Thompson (cousin to Loretta Lynn), Alex Williams, Shane Owen, Austin Wahlert and Ben Gallaher will all perform.

Tyndall’s career began when she entered a contest to duet with Keith Urban in 2014 – and won. A year later, the North Carolina native decided it was time to make music her full-time job so she dropped out of nursing school and moved to Nashville. Tyndall has spent most of her time writing and honing her craft from industry veterans and is excited for her debut album. She released her first single earlier this year and “Everything is Texas” is being played on the radio right now.

On Saturday other acts to take the stage will be Mitch Rossell, India Ramey, Andy Velo, Barrett Baber and Mitchell Tenpenny.

The PBR will make its 18th consecutive stop in Nashville, which will host the fourth and final PBR Major of the year. PBR Majors offer increased prize money and points, which can catapult a bull rider up the PBR world standings. Tickets start at $25 and are on sale now at the Bridgestone Arena box office, online at Ticketmaster.com or by calling PBR customer service at 1-800-732-1727.

The Music City Knockout will begin at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, and at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19.

CBS Sports Network will broadcast both days of the Music City Knockout – Friday night at 9:00 p.m. ET and Saturday at 10:00 p.m. ET. CBS Sports will feature the final rides of the event on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET. Fans can also watch each round live on PBR LIVE. PBR LIVE is available at no charge to all fans and media. Visit www.PBR.com/live to view. Fans can also watch all of the action via the PBR LIVE app, available for download now on Google Play and iTunes.

The Music City Knockout will be the 18th event on the 2017 PBR BFTS schedule. The season will consist of 26 stops, traveling to such cities as Chicago, New York, Anaheim, California, and Dallas. It will climax with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Nov. 1-5 where the 2017 PBR World Champion, the bull rider who earns the most world standings points during the season, will receive the coveted World Championship belt buckle and $1 million bonus.

The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network and networks around the world. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
