DECATUR, Texas – With the only ride of the event, Quentin Vaught (Crane, Missouri) won the J.W. Hart PBR Challenge BlueDEF Tour (BDT) event in Decatur, Texas on Saturday, June 4.

Vaught posted 84 points aboard High Test (D&H Cattle Co.) late in Section 2, which held out as the only score of the evening.

With the victory, Vaught won 80 points towards the PBR World Standings.

Winners of each 2016 BlueDEF Tour will be guaranteed a minimum of one opportunity to compete at a Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) regular-season event in an attempt to win enough points to rank among the Top 35 and earn a spot on the elite tour. Thanks to the win in Decatur, Vaught will compete at his first-ever BFTS event when he travels to Thackerville, Oklahoma for the Winstar World Casino & Resort Invitational, on Sept. 3-4.

The bulls competing on Saturday night were ABBI Classic bulls. With a score of 90 points Smooth Over (K Bar C-Garrett/Thompson) was named the ABBI Big Tex Decatur Classic Champion.

Also part of the J.W. Hart PBR BDT event was the Young Guns Challenge. Cooper Davis (Jasper, Texas), the 2015 PBR World Finals Event Champion, walked away victorious after conquering Who Dey (K-C Bucking Bulls) for 88 points.

The Young Guns Challenge did not earn Davis any points but he was presented with a check for $10,000 and the opportunity to attempt the No. 1 bull in the world, Air Time (Jared Allen PBT/Phenom Genetics) for a chance at $50,000. Air Time was able to send Davis flying in 2.58 seconds to up his buckoff streak to 24 and keep Davis from padding his pockets.

The BlueDEF Tour will next be in action in Bismark, North Dakota at the Dakota Community Bank & Trust: PBR Bull Riding Challenge on June 17-18 at the Bismarck Event Center.
