LAS VEGAS – Ride. Rock. Party. Repeat. The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) will “ride†and the musicians will “rock†so the fans can “party†during the PBR Cowboy Spring Break Festival scheduled Memorial Day Weekend at the MGM Resorts Village in Las Vegas.Â
To get the party started, the PBR and MGM Resorts International have booked a world-class lineup of musicians for the three-day weekend, featuring country music artists Gary Allan and The Band Perry. Additional artists will be added in the coming weeks. Â
For three days fans can enjoy the concerts, on-site pool parties, mechanical bull riding, frothy drinks, bull rider meet-and-greets, interactive displays, shopping and a host of other activities.Â
“Cowboy Spring Break has been a long-time in the making and we have an exceptional line-up of entertainment to surround one of PBR’s most popular events, The Last Cowboy Standing†PBR COO Sean Gleason said. “It’s the last PBR event before the summer break and I know that our cowboy athletes will be ready to enjoy some fun-in-the-sun with PBR fans and western lifestyle enthusiasts.â€
The celebration will be centered on one of the PBR’s most popular and roughest event formats, the Last Cowboy Standing. The Top 50 bull riders in the world will compete Friday and Saturday in round after round of competition. If they make the 8-second buzzer, they advance. If they come up short, they’re done. The battle continues until one athlete remains and becomes the “Last Cowboy Standing,†pocketing at least $180,000 as the winner. The event’s total purse is $250,000.
The Last Cowboy Standing will be held at the MGM Resorts Village and is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Friday, May 22 and at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Gary Allan will rock the house following Saturday night’s Round 2 action and The Band Perry will close the weekend’s festivities on Sunday.
The Last Cowboy Standing is the second PBR Major and will be broadcast on CBS Television Network. Â
