PBR fans to enjoy another year of Tyson Fan Zone & Marketplace

International Chili Society brings 48th Annual World’s Championship Chili Cookoff to PBR fan zone.

PUEBLO, Colo. – In only two weeks, the 2014 Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough World Finals will commence in Las Vegas for the 21st consecutive year.

While celebrating the PBR’s 21st birthday in Las Vegas, there will be many activities for all fans to enjoy including the Tyson Fan Zone & Marketplace at the MGM Resorts Village across from Luxor Hotel and Casino.

The fan zone will be open Wednesday, Oct. 22 through Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. to noon. Admission to the fan zone is complimentary. Interactive opportunities include climate-controlled shopping, PBR Sponsor booths from Ford Trucks, Jack Daniel’s, Cooper Tires, Monster Energy Drink, the Express Clydesdales, and PBR Entertainer Flint Rasmussen’s “Outside The Barrel†Show, among other experiences. A special feature returning this year is “Champions Alley,†featuring appearances by select PBR legendary bulls from past years.

The Global War on Terror Wall of Remembrance, a memorial that was created in 2011 for the 10-year remembrance of 9/11, also will be on display at the fan zone. Fans will have the opportunity to see more than 10,000 names included on one side of the wall, while the other side depicts a photo timeline of prominent historical events that took place following 9/11.

The basic fan zone schedule is as follows:

Wednesday – Sunday

2:30 p.m. Tyson PBR University’s Chris Shivers Mini Bull Riding at the Priefert Arena

3:30 p.m. Mangalarga Marchador demonstration at the Priefert Arena

Sunday

8 a.m. Riding High Ministries on the Monster Energy Stage

In addition to the schedule above, the International Chili Society (ICS) will bring the 48th Annual World’s Championship Chili Cookoff (WCCC) to the fan zone October 23-26. The WCCC schedule includes Traditional Red Chili, Chili Verde, Salsa and Homestyle Chili, approximately 350 judges and a total prize package of $55,000 with $25,000 being awarded to the winner of the Traditional Red Chili contest.

Each day following select cook-offs, a People’s Choice Chili Sampling will take place. All proceeds from the samplings will go to offset the medical expenses of Jaxson Kidd, the first recipient of the PBR’s Adopt a Child program.
