PUEBLO, Colo. – The Professional Bull Riders Blue DEF Velocity Tour is making its debut in San Diego at the Valley View Casino Center, with athletes from around the world that will be competing Nov. 8 for one day of exciting bull riding action.Â
Headlining the competition is the fifth-ranked bull rider in the world, Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas) and seventh-ranked Cody Nance (Paris, Tennessee). Also competing in San Diego are Chase Outlaw (Hamburg, Arkansas), Marco Eguchi (Poa Sao Paulo, Brazil), and Kasey Hayes (Liberal, Kansas), who are all ranked in the Top 20. Before facing some of the rankest bulls in the world in San Diego, they will also be competing at the Monster Energy Bulls on the Beach in Huntington Beach, California, on Oct. 18, and the Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Oct. 22-26.Â
The Blue DEF Velocity Tour provides an opportunity for riders to compete in PBR-sanctioned events to earn points towards qualifying for the nationally-televised Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS), which features the Top 35 bull riders in the world. The Velocity Tour is part of the PBR’s international tour schedule and there’s nothing minor-league about it. These are young men dreaming of the big time. To make it, they have to get past some of the most famous bucking bulls in the sport and superstar veterans looking to stand in their way. Â
The event starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $15, and are available at the Valley View Casino Center box office, www.axs.com, and by telephone at (888) 929-7849.Â
