Bushwacker to buck during 2014 summer

Bushwacker is scheduled to buck this summer in three events, all that will be broadcast on PBR LIVE, before the Built Ford Tough Series resumes on Aug. 15-16 in Tulsa, Okla.

PUEBLO, Colo. ― The final schedule of appearances for PBR fans’ favorite bovine athlete, Bushwacker, has now been set.

The two-time World Champion Bull will make appearances in several West Coast cities, bucking at PBR Touring Pro Division and PBR BlueDEF Velocity Tour events in California from May-August.

These events will be streamed live via pbr.com to PBR LIVE subscribers. It will be the only place to see Bushwacker at TPD and BDVT events this summer.

Bushwacker will buck for the first time this summer on June 13-14 at Chad Berger’s DCB PBR Bull Riding Challenge in Bismarck, North Dakota, taking on four-time PRCA bull riding champion J.W. Harris in a special matchup.

Bushwacker has been perfect in 2014, making short work of all eight of the men he’s faced to date, including reigning PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney and current No. 1 bull rider Guilherme Marchi.

Mauney is the only man to successfully ride Bushwacker since 2009, doing so during his ninth attempt in Tulsa, Oklahoma, last August. However, Mauney was only able to last 1.1 seconds atop his nemesis earlier this year in Oklahoma City.

This past weekend, on his way to winning The Last Cowboy Standing, Marchi met Bushwacker for the first time in his career and managed to last just over three seconds before losing his grip. Bushwacker’s made short work of the best the PBR has to offer, so Harris will have his hands full.

Bushwacker will then appear at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara, California, for the TPD event at the Fiesta Stock Horse Show & Rodeo on July 31.

Bushwacker’s 2014 summer schedule:

June 13-14: Bismarck, N.D. (Bismarck Civic Center)
July 31: Santa Barbara, Calif. (Earl Warren Showgrounds)

Bushwacker also will be making several appearances during the second half of the 2014 Built Ford Tough Series regular season, which will begin with his return to the site where his record-setting buckoff reign came to an end, Tulsa, Okla.’s BOK Center.

Bushwacker's 2014 remaining Built Ford Tough Series schedule:

Aug. 15-16: Tulsa, Okla. (BOK Center)
Sept. 5-6: Nashville, Tenn. (Bridgestone Arena)
Sept. 19-20: Laughlin, Nev. (Laughlin Events Center)
Sept. 26-27: Oakland, Calif. (Oracle Arena)

The bull who has been called the greatest bull the PBR has ever known will take his final outs at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals at the Thomas & Mack Center, Oct. 22-26. He’ll be defending his World Championship title and contending for a third.

The World Finals will be aired live on CBS Sports Network, the home of the PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series, at 9 p.m. ET, Oct. 22-25 and 2:30 p.m. ET, Sunday, Oct. 26.
