PUEBLO, Colo. ― The Professional Bull Riders announced it has extended its partnership with Stanley Black & Decker to be the "Official and Exclusive Tools and Security Solutions Partner" of the PBR. The current agreement began in 2010, but a partnership dates back to 1999 when DEWALT was the "Official Power Tool" of the PBR and sponsored PBR riders.
"Stanley Black & Decker has played an integral role in the PBR for many years, and we are excited that our partnership will continue," PBR Chairman and CEO Jim Haworth said. "They are involved not only through sponsorship of events and some of the world's top bull riders, but their tools are used regularly in the production of our Built Ford Tough Series and Touring Pro Division events."
The partnership includes title sponsorship of the nationally televised Built Ford Tough Series events in Billings, Mont., which will be the Stanley Make Something Great Invitational, and in Idaho, which will be the DEWALT Guaranteed Tough Invitational.
"We're thrilled to be announcing the continuation of our PBR partnership, and are equally excited to have such a tremendous team of bull riders carrying our Stanley, DEWALT, and Mac Tools brands each week in the Built Ford Tough Series," said Earle Smola, Director, Corporate Brand Design and Sponsorships, Stanley Black & Decker. "The PBR is an important part of our global marketing programming, and we're excited to be announcing this partnership extension and continuing to be a part of the Built Ford Tough Series, the Touring Pro Division and Brahma Series events around the world."
Stanley Black & Decker will continue to have a presence at BFTS events, including signage, both affixed and electronic, in-arena promotions, a booth on the concourse, public address announcements, tickets, chute seats, and behind-the-scene tours. The partnership will also include PBR Fan Zones and promotions with PBR riders at local Stanley Black & Decker retail partners.
Stanley Black & Decker will also continue its sponsorship of "Team Stanley" with two-time World Champion Silvano Alves, 2009 World Champion Kody Lostroh, 2008 World Champion Guilherme Marchi, Austin Meier, Douglas Duncan and Marco Eguchi. The PBR riders will make appearances, and will display Stanley, DEWALT and Mac Tools brand logos on their helmets, shirts, chaps, gloves and vests.
Stanley Black & Decker will also continue its involvement in the PBR's Brahma Bull Series in Brazil.
The PBR will celebrate 20 years of competition with the 2013 season. PBR broadcasts reach more than half a billion households in 50 nations and territories around the world, and more than 2.5 million fans attend PBR events each year. PBR has awarded more than $120 million dollars in prize money over 20 years of competition, including a $1 million dollar bonus to the PBR World Champion each year.
The 2013 Built Ford Tough Series season again opened with capacity crowds at Madison Square Garden in New York, and will make 26 stops in 18 states. The season will conclude at the Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Oct. 23-27, 2013. The PBR World Champion will receive the coveted Championship buckle, a $1 million bonus and a new pickup truck from Ford, the title sponsor of the Built Ford Tough Series.
The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network and networks around the world. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
