NEW YORK ― The Professional Bull Riders announced that play-by-play commentator Sam Gore will fill in for Craig Hummer this weekend during CBS Sports Network broadcasts of the Monster Energy Invitational from Madison Square Garden on Saturday and Sunday.
Hummer has been sidelined by injuries sustained from a bicycle accident in December, and is expected to return to PBR broadcasts in February or March.
"We wish Craig a speedy recovery and look forward to his return at the earliest possible date," said David Neal, who produces Built Ford Tough Series broadcasts for the PBR. "Craig is an integral part of PBR broadcasts, but we're fortunate to have Sam join us for the first broadcasts of the 2013 season, our 20th-anniversary year."
Gore, who last filled in for Hummer during the PBR's Chicago Invitational in 2011, can typically be seen and heard on all ESPN Networks, as well as the Tennis Channel. A North Carolina native, Gore also announces US Open tennis for CBS Sports Network.
"First of all, let me say how honored I am to be back on the PBR broadcast team," Gore said, "and I wish Craig a speedy and successful recovery. He is a broadcast icon in the sport. I simply want to maintain the level of excellence he has established until he returns.

"I'm a big fan of the PBR, as to me it is a sport of integrity and character, as well as intense action. I also greatly admire the passion and knowledge of the fans of the PBR, and look forward to keeping them informed at the start of the 2013 season."
The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network and networks around the world. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner Neal, who serves as executive producer.
The PBR will celebrate 20 years of competition with the 2013 season. PBR broadcasts reach over half a billion households in 50 nations and territories around the world, and over 2.5 million fans attend PBR events each year. The PBR has awarded more than $120 million dollars in prize money over 20 years of competition, including a $1 million bonus to the PBR World Champion each year.
The BFTS will make 26 stops in 18 states, beginning at world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York on Jan. 4-6. The season will conclude Oct. 23-27 in Las Vegas with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, where the PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded a $1 million bonus. The richest bull riding event in the world, the World Finals has a total purse of more than $2 million.
