The morning line: Des Moines, Day 2

Event leader Robson Palermo faces Space Chimp in Round 3, a bull who dusted him last year in Milwaukee.

By PBR

DES MOINES, Iowa - Heading into Round 3 this afternoon, only Robson Palermo has managed to put two scores on the board.

Event Leaders:

Robson Palermo on 518 Space Chimp:
This is a rematch from last season in Milwaukee, where Space Chimp got the best of Palermo. This bull has 43 outs on tour, so all the riders are very familiar with him. He is a fast spinner, and has been ridden a little more often by right-handed riders. Marco Eguche was 86 points on him last week in Indianapolis.

Palermo Chimp

Robson Palermo had a less-than-successful attempt the last time he met up with Space Chimp.

Chase Outlaw on 315 Another One:
This bull is one of the clones of Panhandle Slim, and is not very easy to ride. He's been ridden only three times in 29 career outs, and has the second-highest difficulty grade among bulls picked in the top half of the draft for this round.

Stormy Wing on 723 Panther:
Wing was 88 points on Panther in Billings, Mont., last August.  This bull has a respectable buckoff percentage overall, but he's been ridden in three of his past four outs.

Silvano Alves on 820 Dr. Evil:
Cord McCoy had this bull in Round 1 and came down. Aside from that, Dr. Evil has very little history.

Douglas Duncan on L743 Raven's Mistake:
We haven't seen Raven's Mistake since Thackerville, Okla., last season, when Guiherme Marchi was 85.25 points on him.

Renato Nunes on 66 JD:
This bull posted one of the highest bull scores in Round 1, and threw off Harve Stewart in the process. JD has only been ridden once in 19 attempts.

CBSN reminder
Valdiron de Oliveira on -215 Amy's Pet:
I'm not sure how this bull fell to Oliveira in the draft. He's one of the best bulls to ride in this round and should have been gone after the first few picks. He's been ridden in eight of his past 10 outs, notably by Palermo in Albuquerque, N.M., for 88.75 points. Oliveira rode him last September in Wichita, Kan., for 86.75 points.

Chad Besplug on 703 Let 'Er Rip:
This is a good bull for any left-handed rider here. He's been ridden six times in 24 career outs - all six times by lefties.

L.J. Jenkins on 45 Stanley-Bostitch Hurriquake:
This is a bull who has been around quite a bit, and Jenkins has probably seen him go several times. His buckoff percentage is about the same for right or left-handed riders, but when he faces the top-tier riders he drops 15 percentage points. The top guys get a score on this one around 60 percent of the time.

Ryan McConnel on 634 Double Clutch:
Dusty Ephrom came down from Double Clutch in Round 1, and overall this is a bull who has only been ridden four times in 31 career outs.

Guilherme Marchi on 821 Magic Man:
Magic Man made his PBR debut just last night, and Palermo took second in the round on him.  Marchi made a good pick has a good chance to get a second score here.

Caleb Sanderson on U2 Prince Albert:
This is a rematch from Albuquerque, where Prince Albert got the best of Sanderson. Fabiano Vieira is the last rider to get a score on Prince Albert - in Billings last August.

Cody Nance on 409 Shortcut:
Most riders at this level should get along with this bull. He's 6-12 against Built Ford Tough Series riders. He's been ridden more often by left-handed riders as well. Nance should get a second score on the board with this one.

Emilio Resende on 797 Express:
This is the bull whom Kody Lostroh had last night. He's still never been ridden by a lefty, but he's ridden most of the time by right-handed riders. Resende is one of the few right-handed riders who have failed to get a score on Express. They met in Glendale, Ariz., in March.

If you rank bulls by all their measurable stats, [Flip Side] grades out higher than quite a few very famous PBR bulls, mainly due to his proven difficulty factor.

Fabiano Vieira on 25/5 Flip Side:
Flip Side has been one of the most difficult-to-ride long-round-caliber bulls in the PBR for two full seasons. Only four guys have managed to make the whistle on him in 48 career outs. If you rank bulls by all their measurable stats, this bull grades out higher than quite a few very famous PBR bulls, mainly due to his proven difficulty factor.

Austin Meier on 629 Magic:
Meier was last among the guys who have one score, but he still got a good pick. Magic last appeared in Albuquerque, where Lostroh was 86.5 points on him.
