The only rider to cover all four bulls on the weekend, Paulo Lima scored 353.5 points to finish first at the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series Milwaukee Invitational presented by Cooper Tires at the Bradley Center.

On the final ride of the night, Lima scored 91 points on Highway 12 (Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls) to secure his second win of the season and earn more than $38,000. The event win propelled Lima from 22nd to 14th in the BFTS standings, and increased his overall season earnings to more than $134,000.

Lima entered the Built Ford Tough Championship Round with a 46.25-point lead over Robson Palermo. Palermo moved into first place after scoring a BFTS season-high 93.5 points on RMEF Gunpowder & Lead (Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls) to win the championship round. The previous high for 2011 was 93.25 points by the same pairing of Palermo and RMEF Gunpowder & Lead at Pueblo, Colo., in May. Palermo earned more than $23,000 for his runner-up finish to move into the BFTS earnings lead with $265,714 and the overall money lead (including Touring Pro Division winnings) with $293,240.

Douglas Duncan finished third in the average with 261.5 points, and Fabiano Vieira was fourth with 258 points. Duncan was second in the championship round with 91.75 points on Cooper Tires Wild & Out (Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Box K Cattle Co.) while Vieira was the only other rider to score in the last round, finishing fourth with 88.5 points on Slim’s Ghost (Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls).

Rookie Rubens Barbosa finished fifth overall, entering the second night in third place after riding two bulls on Friday. J.B. Mauney won Round 3 on Saturday with 89 points on Who Dat (K-C Bucking Bulls/Spark-lin Acres).

For the third event in a row, Asteroid (Circle T Ranch & Rodeo) was the high-marked bull finishing with 47.5 points. Asteroid scored 46.5 points in Tulsa, Okla., and San Antonio.

Silvano Alves increased his lead in the BFTS season standings to 1,012.75 points over Valdiron de Oliveira. Palermo moved past Guilherme Marchi into third place, holding a one-point lead over the 2008 PBR World Champion. The first 24 events have produced 15 different winners, led by Palermo and Oliveira, who have four victories each.

The action from Milwaukee will be televised in HD on VERSUS at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday. Play-by-play broadcaster Craig Hummer will be joined by two-time PBR World Champion Justin McBride, who will provide color commentary, and Leah Garcia, who will be doing dirt-level interviews. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR by David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer and creative lead.

The Built Ford Tough Series returns to Springfield, Mo., next weekend for the PFIwestern.com Invitational presented by Bass Pro Shops. Bull riding at JQH Arena begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, and at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18. Milwaukee is the 24th stop on the nationally-televised BFTS, which makes 29 stops in 23 states. The season began at world-famous Madison Square Garden, and culminates Oct. 26-30 in Las Vegas at the richest bull riding event in the world, the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals. The Finals is where the 2011 PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded the $1 million Built Ford Tough bonus.
