PBR Rock Bar celebration will feature Snyder, Duncan

Last Cowboy Standing, Calgary Stampede winners in Las Vegas on Sept. 1

By PBR

The Professional Bull Riders announced that “Last Cowboy Standing” winner Luke Snyder and 2010 Calgary Stampede champion Douglas Duncan will join the one-year anniversary celebration for the PBR Rock Bar & Grill on Thursday, Sept. 1.

Located at the center of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, PBR Rock Bar & Grill celebrated its opening in conjunction with the 2010 Built Ford Tough World Finals. The 16,800 square-foot venue includes a 3,000 square-foot patio that looks out onto the Las Vegas Strip. It features American comfort food and barbeque, 105 high-definition televisions, a mechanical bull and extensive PBR branding.

“We are very excited about the anniversary celebration in Las Vegas. It is even better that the PBR Built Ford Tough Series schedule allows two of our top riders to be there for this special occasion,” said PBR President and COO Sean Gleason. “We’ll continue the celebration in October when we bring all of the top bull riders back to Las Vegas for the richest bull riding event in the world, the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals.”

Sponsored by Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Las Vegas Weekly, Las Vegas Magazine, and Budweiser, the evening will feature dining, entertainment and bull riding. Snyder and Duncan will be at the exclusive VIP dinner on the patio from 7-8 p.m. before joining the high-energy party which will be open to the public from 8 p.m. to close.

There are four themed locations for the world’s premier bull riding organization. PBR bars opened in Baltimore and Houston in March, joining PBR Sky Bar in Kansas City, which opened in 2009.

Snyder won $216,500 on April 16 in front of a sellout crowd at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and a pay-per-view audience, while Duncan took home $110,500 for winning the Calgary Stampede. The $216,500 is the highest one-day payout of the 2011 season and the second highest in history. In his 11th BFTS season, Snyder has earned almost $1.4 million, while Duncan has almost $300,000 in three years.

The PBR Built Ford Tough Series features the Top 40 bull riders in the world competing each week against the best bucking bulls. The BFTS crisscrosses the United States, making 29 stops in 23 states. The season began at world-famous Madison Square Garden, and culminates Oct. 26-30 in Las Vegas at the richest bull riding event in the world, the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals. The Finals is where the 2011 PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded the $1 million Built Ford Tough bonus.

The BFTS is televised in HD each week on VERSUS with select events broadcast on NBC and CBS. The telecasts are produced for the PBR by David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 33-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer and creative lead.
