Current world No. 2 Valdiron de Oliveira proved he is a force to be reckoned with this weekend, winning the Stanley Tools and Security Invitational presented by Cooper Tires. After two days of competition, he came into Championship Sunday in the lead and never lost his stride. In Round 4, Oliveira received 84.75 points on Outta Da Blue (Circle T Ranch & Rodeo). He then secured the win with an 89-point ride on Jeffrey Scott’s Titanium Tough (Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls) in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round.

2010 Rookie of the Year Silvano Alves finished the weekend just behind Oliviera, but managed to hold onto his lead in the BFTS world standings. Alves covered Grey Ghost (Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Struve/Schott) for 85.75 points in Round 4, then rode Big Tex (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round for 84.75 points. Fellow Brazilian Fabiano Vieira ended the weekend close behind Alves after two qualifying rides on the final day of competition: 83.25 points on Space Chimp (Circle T Ranch & Rodeo) in Round 4 and 87 points on Asteroid (Circle T Ranch & Rodeo) in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round. Oliveira, Alves and Vieira were the only three to ride all five bulls this weekend.

Guilherme Marchi, who stayed on How We Roll (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger Bucking Bulls) for 83.75 points in Round 4 but was bucked off of Buckey (Craig & Vicki Wentz) in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, took fourth overall on the weekend. Another former Rookie of the Year, Cody Nance, closed out the Top 5 with an 80.75-point ride on Buck Naked (Craig & Vicki Wentz) in Round 4 followed by an 88-point ride on Blue Emu’s Hank (Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls) in the final round.

The Built Ford Tough Series heads back to Tulsa, Okla., next weekend for the Express Classic presented by American Hoggers on A&E. Bull riding begins at 8:00 p.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 12, and at 7:00 p.m. CT on Saturday at the BOK Center. Billings is the 21st stop on the nationally-televised Built Ford Tough Series, which makes 29 stops in 23 states. The season began at world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York, and culminates Oct. 26-30 in Las Vegas at the richest bull riding event in the world, the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals. The Finals is where the 2011 PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded the $1 million Built Ford Tough bonus.
