Florida's Caleb Sanderson ended the weekend with the first Built Ford Tough Series event win of his career, riding three of four bulls at the U.S. Bank Invitational presented by The Split by WinStar World Casino. Sanderson, who came into Day 2 leading the event after covering two bulls on Saturday, made the buzzer in Round 3 on Fully Loaded (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) and received 85.75 points. He did not post a score in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, but his combined score on three was enough to secure the win.
The surging L.J. Jenkins finished the weekend behind Sanderson. Jenkins took the Round 3 win on Boogerman Boogie (D&H Cattle Co/Buck/Boogerman Bucking Bulls) and received 89 points, the highest scored ride of the weekend. He was also one of only two riders to cover their bulls in the final round on Sunday, winning that round as well with 87.75 points on Crosswired (D&H Cattle Co./Clifton Wiggins).
Third place for the weekend went to Australian Ben Jones, who posted an 86.25 in Round 1, and tied for third in Round 3, riding Cowboy Casanova (Mesa Bucking Bulls) for 87.25 points. He did not make the buzzer in the final round of competition.
Former Rookie of the Year Silvano Alves finished the weekend just behind Jones. He was the second rider to make the buzzer in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, receiving 86 points on Spit Fire (Boyd/Floyd Bull Company). 2009 World Champion Kody Lostroh rounded out the top five, staying on his bull in the first round, and then again in Round 3. Lostroh rode El Patron (Bad Company Rodeo Co. Inc./Cody Ohl) for 85.75 points, tying Sanderson for eighth in the round.
