The Professional Bull Riders announced that NBC will televise the final day of the Built Ford Tough Invitational Powered by F-150 EcoBoost from Tampa, Fla., on Sunday, April 10, at 3 p.m. ET.
The Built Ford Tough Series event will be shown after the final regular-season National Hockey League broadcast, featuring the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and rival Detroit Red Wings.
Immediately following the PBR broadcast, NBC will televise “F-150 EcoBoost Torture Test,” a 30-minute special showcasing the new Ford F-150 EcoBoost engine. The engine was put through a series of tortuous challenges to show its durability and toughness.
Play-by-play broadcaster Craig Hummer will be joined in Tampa by nine-time World Champion and PBR co-founder Ty Murray, who will provide color commentary, and Leah Garcia, who will be doing dirt-level interviews.
The PBR made its network television debut on NBC in 2001. The PBR and NBC have broadcast a series of BFTS events each year, including Championship Sunday from the Built Ford Tough World Finals.
NBC broadcast the Built Ford Tough Series season-opener from Madison Square Garden and also televised the Jack Daniel’s Invitational from Indianapolis. The network will televise Championship Sunday from the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, the richest bull riding event in the world, from Las Vegas at 4 p.m. ET on Oct. 30.
Tampa is the 14th stop on the nationally-televised BFTS, which makes 28 stops in 23 states. The season began in New York, and culminates Oct. 26-30 in Las Vegas at the World Finals. The Finals is where the 2011 PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded the $1 million Built Ford Tough bonus.
